Absolutely horrible experience.
I placed an online order for two items (mirror and clock), qualifying for free shipping but the mirror was only showing that I could be shipped to the store or 15 euros to be shipped to my house... I opted just to make a day out of it and pick up in store.
When I placed the order, I received an email saying my mirror could be picked up from the store apart from the 21st and the clock would be shipped by XX date. I get to the store on the 23rd and they say they don't have it in the store and to check my account for a message...I thought, that's weird since I didn't receive any email notifications...am I supposed to be checking my Maisons du Monde account constantly to see if they message me there?? Of course in store, nothing can be done and it's Sunday, so customer service line is not available. Today, Monday, I called customer service and I "just have to replace my order, but don't worry, Maisons de Monde will ship it to the store for free".... And how does that guarantee that my order won't get cancelled again??? With no notification??
Mind you this is a 80 euro mirror (and 95 euro clock...) Apparently the clock was sold from a different seller which is why the mirror doesn't quality for free shipping to my house...but again, don't worry they can ship to the store for free..UHHH how else would I get the mirror? Am I supposed to go to France to pick it up myself??? I don't live close to the store and there is absolutely no other way for them to compensate for all this hassle. Today there was no manager available to speak to on the customer service line...but I can expect a call back in 5 business days...5 :) The best part is that the store blamed the online system and customer service line blamed me because I bought a clock that is sold by a different seller (as if I'm supposed to know that??? It's sold on the Maisons du Monde website...is it not?)
Absolutely unacceptable. That was my last shopping experience with...

Stuff that basically doesn't function, can't plugin, does nothing except looking good and collect dust. If you have a blank and boring wall, shelf, or a corner in that room, and you need a rag doll, a wooden monkey or a copy of a Harley Davidson then this is the place, and I don't really know of a better place.
My tip is to enter the premises and shop around return but split up from your partner, better still at differing times. Armed with equal amounts of your budget give it 'what for' and once the damage is done, and there's no turning back, head to the car park and compare. We choose a theme of a colour, that you have to stick to, and I hate to say it, 200 each. We then await for the guests comments over the next few months and see who...
Read moreMost stressful experience. Awful attitude from the Director of the shop. Started well, goods arrived and no problem. Ended up I would never shop with them again when I had to try to get someone to fix steps broken by their delivery service (repair cost 90 euros) - took from November 2017 until summer 2018 to sort it out. Obviously the broken steps and transportation company, according to the shop manager were nothing to do with them. Shocking and stressful.
