I had the pleasure of attending a wine tour experience in celebration of a friend's 40th birthday. It was sublime! The hotel where we were staying had its own bodega and so we kicked off the weekend with a tour and a wine experience onsite. Later, we traveled to multiple vineyards and bodegas where we learned about the history of wine production and the different types of grapes as well as the history of the La Rioja region. One vineyard was especially opened just for my friend's birthday and it had a beautiful view of the town. The weather was spectacular after having come from a rainy, dreary Madrid. All of the wine presenters were knowledgeable and friendly. It was a great blend of informative and an interesting experience. Read moreI was on a great wine tour with Enrique, with whom we visited 2 family wineries in Madrid region. It was very interesting to see the cellars and to learn about the wine culture, history and insider info of which I was completely unaware. I was also impressed by gigantic ceramic clay pots where wine is fermented and going down to a real cave where the wine is stored. The tour also included wine tasting so we tried various types accompanied with local snacks and had nice conversations with other people in our small international group. Our guide Enrique was very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. He is real expert in the wine world, and made his tour not only informative but fun - the atmosphere was very nice! Enrique also showed us a bit of a historic town with a square serving as a bullfighting arena and told us various curiosities about the region. I sincerely recommend Wine Tour Madrid...
Read moreEnrique was able to accommodate us last minute on the only day we were available in Madrid, and it was a great day! It was a unique experience and had a private tour since we came during the off season. The first winery was absolutely beautiful with a lot of history, and the wine cellar was like nothing I’ve ever seen before! We stopped by a small town to walk around with a great view and then the second winery was really interesting as well. Enrique was very knowledgeable and personable and made the trip really enjoyable!...
