On September 1st, 2025, around 5:50 PM, I went to this pharmacy to pick up the antibiotics prescribed to me by the hospital doctors, after spending the entire day in the emergency department and already dealing with four days of pain and fever.
The pharmacist who attended me decided to give me a lecture about why I should already be speaking Swedish, instead of simply explaining the instructions for my medication. She initially refused to provide the information in English and only after I insisted two or three times did she finally agree. What makes this worse is that her English was absolutely perfect—there was no problem at all in communicating—so the refusal felt completely unnecessary and out of place.
I strongly believe it is not the role of a pharmacist to give sermons about language skills, especially in a hospital setting where patients are coming directly from emergencies and are already feeling unwell. The way I was treated made me feel even worse, and I do not think this is the standard of care patients should expect...
