Wat Khwang Singh — Local services in Chiang Mai Province

Only really of interest to extreme temple lovers and historians.

Leaving Chiang Mai city to the north on route 107, after crossing the inner ring road, you will find Wat Khuang Sing immediately on the left. If you carry on a very short distance and take the first road on the left, this leads to the Khuang Sing Chinese Cemetery, which is also well worth a visit. "Two birds with one stone" as they say.

Wat Khuang Sing is one of the less visited temples in Chiang Mai, and in all honesty not one of the more interesting. It has a large hall, but when I visited, this was gated off, although I was allowed to take photos over the gate. Dark inside, you can make out the usual Buddah statues and interesting pictures on the walls. Nagas guard the entrance steps.

This temple is a little over 200 years old, and history details are on the internet.

There a few more, nondescript buildings in the courtyard area. Easy to park in here. Not really recommended unless you tie it in with the aforementioned Chinese Cemetery,...

国道11号線（アジアハイウェイ）と国道107号線が交わる、クワンシン交差点の角にある寺院です。 この寺院の隣（北西側）には、クワン・シン（ข่วงสิงห์ ）と呼ばれる獅子の像を祀る祠があります。このことから、この寺院および周辺地域は「クワンシン」と呼ばれています。 この獅子の像は、復興ラーンナー王朝のカーウィラ大王が1801年につくらせたものです。チェンマイ都を守護する獅子の精霊が宿る像としてつくられ、都市域の北側の進入路に当たる場所に安置されました。２頭のうち1頭は北を向き、もう1頭は東を向いています。 都市域の入口に獅子の像を祀るのは、ミャンマーの宗教文化に由来するとも言われています。 国道107号線をチャーンプアック門方向に南下すると、途中に、２頭の白象の像を祀る祠があります。「チャーンプアックの祠」と呼ばれています。この白象もチェンマイ都の守護精霊です。 「クワン・シン」の「クワン（ข่วง）」とは「広場」を意味します。かつてここには閲兵場として利用されていた広場があったそうです。 「シン（สิงห์...
