The Wharf Walking Street — Local services in Ko Samui

This was one of my favorite spots in the area. They have a great selection of food at reasonable prices (a bit higher than local places, but expected in a touristy area). It can get quite crowded, which speaks to its popularity. The only downside was the behavior of the bartenders. They were a bit too pushy, pressuring us to order quickly. At one point, one of them even sat at our table next to my friend, which made us uncomfortable. We ended up leaving without ordering because of that.

Additional notes: -There are motorbike and car parking lots available (for free) -You can find food, beverages, clothing, and souvenirs -It’s close to the Free Wave Market, which is also a great place to eat, and even cheaper...

Yes, I definitely came halfway across the world to eat horrible versions of western food and terrible quality Thai food that is double the price of local Thai restaurants in the area...all while listening to the same tired 40-50 year old American rock songs.

Such a beautiful authentic Thai experience 🤮

Edit: 2 days later, I'm on Koh Lanta at a local market. Lovely booths from local businesses selling locally made crafts and clothing, amazing local foods and craft coffee and tea (all cheaper than what was served at the Warf Walking street in Samui) and locals bands playing a mix of Thai pop songs and Isaan classics! Its stunningly beautiful and I actually feel like I'm in Thailand!

I had an outstanding experience at this night market. The variety of food and products available is truly impressive — from local Thai specialties to international options including German and Spanish cuisine. A particular highlight was the offering of more exotic items such as scorpions and insects, which added a unique and adventurous aspect to the visit.
