Went to the restaurant to eat and watch the fire show however was in the line for 15 minutes before being told the place is completely full and so is the beach and the only option was to pay 3,000bhatt (nearly €80) to sit on a cushion on the floor which they said was VIP. Said we’d wait and come back in 15 for food instead. Walked about 2 minutes and there was an entire walkway to the beach to watch the fire show for FREE?? Beach wasn’t packed at all we sat in an empty seat said we’d watch the fires show them order food inside after. A waiter came over the rudest man and started shouting saying we have to order. Neither of us drink alcohol and wanted to order food inside so we asked for water. The waiter then said he was charging us €7.50 for one glass of water! We said no way and we can just sit in the sand like everyone else. He wasn’t happy with that so kept roaring we move further away however we were not in anyone’s way and no one was complaining only that he was standing up giving out to move. We ignored him as he was very horrible and ignorant and he eventually went away. In the next 5 mins two more men came and stood in front of us. He told them to sit on the sand. A few minutes later the fire show was just ending and he came back this time even angrier shouting and roaring the place down saying to leave the beach?! We were in shock and continued to ignore him until he then attempted to kick me! We got up and left and went straight to talk to the manager. Other customers and staff were there when we were explaining and he came up again and said ‘it wasn’t even a big kick only little one’. The absolute shock we could not believe what was happening. Management said he would send on cctv footage, never did a...
Read moreThis is our third visit to Summer in a week. Great food and location but let down by atrocious service. Today's experience was the final nail in the coffin for us. There is clearly no concept of hospitality - the service is cold, rude and slow. They serve without a smile on their face and are either rushing to get you to order something or quickly turning around the table when you're about to leave.
After arriving, we decided to sit on one of the sunbeds. Within the first 5 minutes, we were bombarded with 3 requests to place an order by 2 different staff members.
As always, the food was delicious and well presented but it was served without the necessary cutlery or napkins.
When we asked for the bill, instead of acknowledging our request, the staff came over and started flipping over the backrest of our sunbed (for the next guest I presume) whilst we were still sitting on it. I understand the need to turn around tables quickly but this was just ridiculous. There's clearly no concept of service or hospitality. They're working like robots and doing what they're told.
When we requested to speak to the on duty manager, they kept stalling us for 5 mins until we insisted that we weren't leaving without speaking to someone. Eventually the on duty assistant manager arrived (Kik) and profusely apologised for the service. She was probably the only person who cared.
It's really a shame as we loved the food and the vibe but were consistently let down by the service. I would not recommend Summer to anyone who cares about having a...
Read moreNice concept, but bad services. If you want to operate the cafe or restaurant, you should train staffs harder and better than this. Honestly, the staffs were careless to do their job. First, none of the staffs greeted or acknowledged us when we enter to the restaurant. It seemed like they were busy with the phones. It would be nice if they would just say good morning. Second, we sat down for awhile and no one bother to bring the menu. So, we had to wave our hands to get attention. The restaurant was empty at that time. We were only guess there. Third, we noticed that one of the staff members who stood in front of the point of sale machine (POS) was eating during the operation. She was the one who handed the menu to us without saying anything as her mouth was full of food. She actually chewed it in front of us. Fourth, another staff came to take the order and couldn’t speak any words of English. So, he just grabbed his colleague from the bar to take order. We ordered fresh pressed orange juice, some coffee, and water as a start. After awhile, the server came back and informed us that they were running out of orange juice. WHAT A SHAME! Normally, staffs should know the unavailable items before running the operation. Not just talking the order and let the guests wait for it. Then, came back with the answer that it was not available with out any apology. The only thing that we can say, good luck for this...
