Kitty and I, along with a group of friends, recently enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Coco Tam's in Bophut, Koh Samui. We were celebrating a special occasion: one of our close friends was planning to propose to his girlfriend. We were all so excited for them, and Coco Tam's seemed like the perfect setting for such a romantic moment. Coco Tam's definitely delivered on the atmosphere. We loved the unique bamboo shack style and the comfy seating options, which made the place feel both relaxed and vibrant. We enjoyed the stunning sea views and the lively ambiance. We each ordered our own dishes from the diverse menu, which included a mix of Thai and international options. We all decided to go for different choices and then share a taste, creating a true feast for the table. Some started with appetizers, a selection of cold cuts and cheese for me, and different appetizers for the rest of our group. Some ordered pasta dishes, with some enjoying spaghetti vongole and Kitty ordering the linguine with crab meat. We also couldn't resist the Pescatora, which was shared among a few of us. For our main courses, we had a mix of options like the onion soup and roasted vegetable salad, along with heartier dishes like the pork chop, Cocotam's roasted pork, and a couple of pasta dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. To quench our thirst, we enjoyed a few Singha beers, some Purra water, and a variety of juices. To complement the meal, some of our friends enjoyed a bottle of red wine, which was the perfect way to enhance the flavors of their food. We also discovered a unique feature of Coco Tam's: a wine and liquor cupboard which was disguised as a door that leads to a different, more intimate environment. On this occasion, we actually had to venture through the cupboard to reach the restroom, which added a touch of mystery to our dining experience. But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the proposal. Our friend, with a little help from the staff and us at Coco Tam's, managed to create the perfect romantic setting, and his girlfriend said "yes!" It was truly a magical moment, made even more special by the beautiful surroundings and delicious food. While the rain that evening did keep the beach activity down, which was a bit disappointing as we usually see fireworks here, the ambiance inside Coco Tam's was still great. Overall, we had a truly memorable experience at Coco Tam's. The atmosphere was lively, the service was friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Koh Samui, especially if you're looking for a little bit of mystery and intrigue, or if you're planning a special occasion.

How to enjoy the fire show by Coco Tam’s? 1. Reservations: If you are planning to come to Samui and want to enjoy the fire show by Coco Tam’s, you can reserve a spot in the bar or you can walk in. What’s the difference? I think the reservations allow you to just come in right before the show, otherwise you can walk-in and get a table but for that you will have to come in by 5/5.30. After 6 pm, they don’t really allow people in (unless there is seats available) You have to make a reservation atleast a week before your planned visit so call them or message them on insta and they are actually very responsive (they called me back when they didn’t pick up my call earlier) 2) Seating: Coco Tam’s is actually very big. They spread across a wide area between their bar and their restaurant. The best seats are the bean bags spread right outside the restaurant area or on the left side of the restaurant area ( take 3/4 columns to the left of the restaurant). If you go further than that, you may not have a great view of the actual show. Try not to sit too close to the water. Middle rows are best. Then you have great view and good seat. We sat a little further away from the middle and while we had a great view we only saw on group mostly (there is two groups doing it simultaneously) 3. Eating Coco Tam’s bar doesn’t have food (only some snacks) so if you are planning to eat while watching the show, sit at their restaurant which is separate from the bar area and they don’t allow you to bring food from the restaurant at the bar. There are some light snacks available but if you are going there hungry hoping to eat (like we did) then you have to sit at their restaurant. Alternatively, the bar allows you to order pizza from the restaurant as a takeout (so they order for you and bring it you in delivery boxes and you can eat and enjoy the pizza) They have good cocktails so we ordered pizza and cocktails and killed a good time to watch the show. 4. Fire show Timings are around 7 pm and 9 pm. This fire show is probably the best I have seen and I definitely recommend it to people. Also please tip them nicely. Some of the stuff they do seems very dangerous. Finally, hope this helps people who are looking to enjoy the show at Coco Tam’s.

Great energy and place / Disappointing Foods and drinks: I was super excited to go there, as I always passed it and saw a long line of people waiting to get inside this place. And I can understand why: great settings, night fire show, open kitchen, music, beach front…etc. All of these things are worth it and you can never question the effort they put into it to create this amazing energy. BUT unfortunately, let’s talk about food and drinks, because that’s what I’m here for: Very high price, very high expectations, very low value.. We took the most expensive pizza: the black truffle one. If you look at one of my picture, you can tell that the cheese is lifeless. When you touch it with your fingers, it doesn’t move, stuck like glue. To me it’s either a every low quality cheese (in France we call it plastic cheese) or it was out for a long time and became hard. Whichever, it was disappointing to see that just because you have one of the most expensive ingredient (black truffles) doesn’t mean you don’t need to execute your pizza perfectly. In this case, the overall pizza and execution didn’t honor the black truffle and it’s sad to pay that much for such dish. Then we tried the pesto pasta, and same feeling. The look of the pasta was dry and lifeless. There wasn’t any finishing touch with butter to bring it to life and make it come together, and I felt like the pasta wasn’t freshly made. Finally the drinks. My comment won’t be much relevant as I don’t drink alcohol but I would say that for the soft drink I was served, it was definitely over priced. Although we took 2 FRUIT drinks, I felt as if it was a mix of sodas’ which my little brother could put together if he was playing being a chef. It might look like a picky comment but at the moment you get your credit card out to pay an expensive bill, you put everything together in your mind and be like “…nah..” I wouldn’t say I had a bad evening because the energy was there, but unfortunately when you open the menu and read the little story about the vision and the concept of COCOTAM’s it says that great moment are created with great people + great food + great drinks and it didn’t deliver on the last 2
