Malee Kitchen Fishermans — Restaurant in Ko Samui

Malee Kitchen is recently opened here in Bo Phut. It is bright, clean, and has a great menu.

We had the lump crab on crispy fried betel leaf, and the dish was perfect in every way - easy 10/10. Probably on a yellow curry base, but tending a little towards choo chee. Wow! The first wow this trip.

Then we had the deep fried sea bass with tamarind sauce, again a stunning 10/10, It was bold, rich, strong flavours, deconstructed and reconstructed under a delicious topping of deep fried onion (and maybe garlic too). The flesh was perfectly cooked - crispy, juicy, with great texture, and generous too. We haven't had fish this good for ages. Presentation came with a whole spray of orchids.

What a delightful surprise. The staff all spoke very good English and were friendly. Prices are ok for what you get.

If you like good authentic Thai food then you should get yourself here. This is the first day of another Bo Phut food safari, so we will definitely be back. There are many other things on the menu I want to try. Congratulations to the chef Katay, Maitre De Boom and the rest of the team.

And we came back a few days later for a superb deep-fried Barramundi, some tasty pandan chicken, and one of the best tom yum goong we've ever had.

Seriously, this place is special.

I agree with the top reviews given to Malee Kitchen. Everything about Malee Kitchen was superb. The service and attention we're top notch . Attentive but not hovering ( hovering wait staff is a huge pet peeve of mine). The atmosphere was open and inviting . With the exception of a bit of road noise, the location and ambiance were perfect. Now for the food.....the massaman curry was delicious and definitely one of best I've eaten. Creamy and fragrant with generous potatoes and chicken. Star anise and a cinnamon stick we're tucked in as well. Wow. Reasonable prices capped off an most enjoyable dining experience. Restrooms 🚻 available Handicap ♿️ doable and recommended Final take...Highly recommended, I will be back again before leaving Koh Samui....

I was hesitant what review to leave as I had a bit mixed feelings, because my meal wasn’t good, but maybe it was just not my type. My fiancé’s dish was delicious when I tried it and if I had it instead, I would be very happy with it. His fresh juice from mango was super delicious. What made a very good impression on me was that a manager(I guess, or kitchen chef) came to me to ask whether there was sth wrong with my dish, as I left it almost untouched. Again as I am not sure whether it is my personal taste or the choice of mine indeed was done too oily, I didn’t complain about it. I do appreciate this gesture to ask me for sure! Very very good service. The place is not fancy, but ok, located to a very busy road...
