I recently visited the Texas Roadhouse branch at Mirdif City Centre and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share.
From the moment we were seated, it became clear that staff attention was inconsistent and, frankly, biased. I found it extremely difficult to get the attention of any staff member, despite multiple attempts.
After being shown to our table, we were left completely unattended. When I tried to wave down a staff member to place our order, I was ignored—twice—while the staff went to greet other newly arriving customers. This repeated behavior continued, and to my surprise, when music started playing, the available staff began dancing instead of attending to waiting guests. While I understand entertainment is part of the restaurant’s culture, it felt inappropriate given that no one had even taken our order.
Even after the performance, I tried several more times to call for assistance. One staff member, upon realizing I was trying to get his attention, avoided me by suddenly starting to clean another table. A nearby female staff member also seemed to ignore our table, engaging in conversation with the staff who was cleaning before both opted to continue cleaning rather than help us.
Throughout this time, new guests were being seated and served promptly, which made the experience feel even more alienating. I attempted to speak with a manager before leaving, but no one responded or acknowledged my request.
My takeaways: Staff behavior was arrogant and dismissive. The team appeared untrained and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of basic hospitality standards. Staff seemed to deliberately ignore certain customers. Management, if present, had no control or visibility. There appeared to be preferential treatment based on nationality or language.
If you are not from a specific nationality, be aware that your experience might not match the inclusive service you expect. I hope Texas Roadhouse takes this feedback seriously and improves the training and oversight of its team at...
Read moreHighly disappointed in our last visit . Seems the staff and team were on a trip! Asked to wait when there were enough tables to be seated . Once seated and attended to with the menu the staff Thot we were invisible! 20 mins plus and no one comes over to take our order. We desperately tried to make eye contact including with the supervisor but with no luck. Tables around us were being cleared ....re arranged....one waiter looked and asked for a min as though he is coming over next to us but then simply didn't tho he was just around but showing himself to be busy while knowing very well we were wanting to place our order ! What surprised us that all the time tables around us were being arranged for the next guest while we waited a good over 20 mins! We eventually left only to be noticed only then that we are leaving !!! The lady at the reception even had the audacity to say thank you come again.....while she very well knew she had made us seated and we were leaving without having our dinner ! Ms Sunita , who was probably a supervisor came over to plead and request us to come back in....but when you have a team who has shown this attitude you can never go back and risk eating from this kitchen and a team who could have an agenda of their own yet and we think we are being pampered this time ! Have promised her never to go back to this outlet again. During all the over 5 mins of conversation expressing our sheet disappointment to Ms Sunita..the manager never showed up !!! Seems the management needs to check the CCTV and verify my report and take necessary action and change this team !!! They are playing mischief here !! We had gone in hoping to have a nice meal as we were all hungry and they simply ensured they ruined our evening. A rare occasion that we had to face this in reputed outlet ! Been here before but an experience that I could not help sharing when it was so disappointing indeed this instance ! We were there Friday 27th September between 8.30 - around 9 pm before...
Read moreAbsolutely livid. I've been coming to this place for over 5+ years, and my drink order has always been the same; a cold cherry coke. I always make sure to get several refills as well.
Today I come in, sit down, order my southern fried chicken, and asked for my regular order of cherry coke. The waiter immediately tells me that apparently, the cherry coke costs 4 dirhams extra and costs 4 dirhams per refill.
Naturally, I got quite frustrated. I'd visited Texas Roadhouse in Dubai Mall just a month ago and they'd told me the same thing. At the time, I'd just assumed that all restaurants in Dubai Mall were like this (what with Dubai being ridiculously extravagant), and that Cherry Coke had always cost extra at Dubai Mall's Texas Roadhouse.
Now, while I was quite upset, I decided to just accept that the policy had changed. But when I inquired to the waiter about it, he tried to convince me that it has always been like this. This is what really got to me. I've been coming to this restaurant for 5+ years and I've always paid the same price for a Cherry coke as I would for a regular coke. This policy is completely new and completely out of the blue, and the waiter trying to convince me otherwise was honestly quite ridiculous, especially as I was already upset over the policy change.
The...
