Update for LA BRIOCHE Team:
Thank you for the reply.
A few thoughts:
First, asking me to specify which outlet this happened at is… let’s say -interesting — considering the review is clearly posted under La Brioche – City Centre Mirdif. Reading helps!
Second, my name is visible, so no mystery there either.
Third, judging by your reply, this is framed as a one-off mistake. Unfortunately, it’s starting to feel more like a standard kitchen attitude across La Brioche branches. I experienced the exact same refusal to swap a boiled egg for a poached one at another branch as well.
And just to complete the déjà vu: in that second location, the staff didn’t even bother pretending to care. The waiter looked visibly bored and mildly irritated just by the idea of having to ask the chef anything. No smile, no warmth — and this was in the afternoon, with barely three tables occupied.
Needless to say, we didn’t stay. We left and went to Café Grey, where the staff was genuinely friendly and the kitchen — surprise — was actually flexible. And no extra mile cause an existential crisis there.
So while the food at La Brioche is okay, the guest experience is seriously let down by a rigid kitchen mindset and a lack of effort — especially when other cafés nearby manage to get both hospitality and common sense right.
Original review: Apparently, at La Brioche Mirdif City Centre poaching an egg after breakfast hours is considered a mission impossible. Who knew eggs had a schedule? The staff was polite, but the explanation like ! Poached egg only for breakfast ! is frankly ridiculous. The place was almost empty, the kitchen clearly not overwhelmed… so what exactly is the problem?
Does this logic make sense to anyone? 1 egg boiled or poached is still only 1 egg per bruscheta! Unless the boiled eggs are already done and not freshly boiled with each order…
I ended up ordering something else. The food itself was okay, but the chef’s attitude clearly wasn’t. Swapping a boiled egg for a poached one on a bruschetta should be easy for any competent chef. But apparently, going the slightest extra mile just isn’t on the menu here. The stars in the rating are a pure reflection of the chef's reluctance. Nice place but this approach and unwillingness makes a bad impression even though the food...
Read moreToday I went there with my family for breakfast and we had not so good experience. We stopped going to this place for a while as the quality of food and service has been going down for a while but they used to do such good food so I wanted to go back again. But today it was perhaps the worst experience if all. We ordered straight away as we knew what we wanted to eat, we asked them to give our drinks with the food. First oyr food arrived after 30 mins but I can understand as they said they are really busy but half the restaurant was empty. My order came completely wrong, so they took it back and my daughter's order did not even come. My family had finished their meal when my order arrived, my daughter still waiting. I asked for drinks to 4 different people and they said they are coming. So I finished my food, my daughter is still waiting for her food and still no drinks. I went to the counter and asked again amd again, after 50 mins my daughter's french taost arrived completely cold and they said they delivered it to the wrong table and gave us the same ones and lady admitted that it was a big confusion today as many people were actually shouting at them. My daughter finished her food too, still no drinks to the point that I had to go and make noise too. Drinks arrived and guess what, completely wrong drinks were delivered so they had to take them back and bring different ones, by this time we had been at the restaurant for more than 1 hour and 15 mins. So we just stood up, paid for the food we had and we didn't have as the french toast were completely cold and still 1 drink short. No apology, no customer services, they just took full amount of money...
Read moreStaff seemed inexperienced and have no clue how to run a restaurant. They are walking around and no one seemed like they cared to do anything, they looked tired and unhappy.
You sit yourself, you wait to get the menu, then its very difficult to communicate in English, the staff doesn’t even look at you when you order, they are looking around, you have to repeat yourself 3 times to explain what you want, I ended up showing pictures from google to just explain what chicken escalope is…
You ask for water and say (please quickly to take medicine) then 10 mins later nothing, you get butter and then 10 or 15 mins later you get the bread…
Such a disappointing experience from a restaurant that I used to visit very often..
Dear management; I tried to ask for the manager but staff informed me the manager is on break, I would’ve liked to share this in person instead of writing a public review.
I would appreciate if you conduct staff training and also support your staff to develop. very sad to see this.. please take care of your employees 🙏🙏
I kept asking multiple times to give me the bill for the water so I can leave, they are trying to force me to stay and refuse to give me the bill. I ended up walking to the cashier and told them if you want give me the bill for the water I will leave...
