The Crossing is a venue that I haven't heard of before. Very spacious, the bar staff are friendly, the drinks are reasonably priced & the crowd created a good atmosphere.
I've only started seeing tribute bands in the last 12 months & I'm hoping to see more. The first band Ultra Foxx were good but could have done with another synth player to make the sound more powerful...7/10.
But Tubeway Days were absolutely superb. The stage set up just reminded me when I first saw Gary Numan on his Telekon tour in 1980. The lead singer had all the Numan mannerisms & the musicianship was great. It was good to hear the singles & some album tracks. It felt like I was at a REAL Numan gig. The bar/breakout area is the college's canteen. Beers are not on draught. Beers are served in 440ml cans from mini fridges. Lagers at £4.50/ can and guest ales at £6/can, and can quickly get warm in the performance space. There is, however, the benefit of the vending machines that sell snacks, and hot drinks.

The performance was fantastic, and I'd re-visit the venue, but I'd arrive closer to the performance time and drink...

There's a bar come canteen area which has vending machines for snacks and coffee tea etc with seats which reminded me of a college canteen and more seats in a courtyard outside. The bar is expensive at £5 for a can of beer But you have to remember they need to make money. The sound and acoustics were excellent. It's Only 10 minutes walk from Moor Street station in a little street off Digbeth High St so plenty of pubs and eateries if you...
