Absolutely wonderful place to visit. Supporting small businesses and creative expressions from local artists, this little get away is a safe haven from fast fashion and throw away culture.
Bespoke designers and artists collections make up the twisting and turning isles of The Red Brick Market in their masses. There's loads to look at, even if you're not looking to spend money, it's free to walk around and see the various sellers wares.
There's a small cafe towards the front of the venue and a barber situated at the back. Stalls include vintage clothing, home wear, artists collections, candles, wall art, bespoke new clothing items, recycled creations, niche collectables, live plant green house, taxidermy (By the exceptionally talented Beetles Bones & Butterflies), collaborations between artists and sellers, street art, political art, baked goods (including substantial vegan options), famous Sauce company Pips, crystal sellers, holistic therapies, bath bombs, printworks, sellers of all manner of things reside here and there's nearly always something or someone new.
There's no guarantee the same stalls will be there next time and the layout sometimes changes which is absolutely wonderful, it's a little bit like walking in to a maze only it's made of pockets or sellers rather than hedges.
The whole venue is on one level and has wheelchair accessibility throughout (please note I do not have mobility struggles so if you require support via a chair or another aid, please do check with the venue as my view of accessible may be greatly different to your needs), though some of the stalls are smaller and may not be as accessible due to their narrow setup, with that said, they're not very deep so you would still be able to see all the offerings within and should you need assistance, there are plenty of wonderful stall holders or staff on site that I'm sure would be happy to reach something down should you need it.
There's much much more.
This is a real eclectic haven for art lovers, hippies, alternative lifestylers and those who wish to support local, small businesses. Even if you're skint, pay them a visit, take some pictures, post on your social media, the more traffic, the better reach they get and the better supported these wonder creators...
Read moreI was on a bike ride and a feeling prompted me to stop and see what's inside. This curiosity, this time, didn't kill the cat or the fox at all. So, I asked a nice lady at the entrance if I could leave my bike. She said yes, and to my big surprise, as soon as I walked around, I was very happy to feel so much energy with people shopping, admiring, and appreciating everyone's mini stands.
The shop itself is unique, with vintage items I didn't expect to find in Birmingham – an all-in-one experience, I may say! You'll discover vintage photo cameras, unique and rare, comic books from DC, Marvel, and others, cartoon characters in miniatures, clothing accessories, arts and crafts, necklaces, rings, earrings, home decorations, paintings and frames, funny signs, handmade purses and hats, hand-embroidery pieces, the Urban Gents beard oils, candles, and many others.
They have a mini cafe inside the building as well, with plenty of space and around 6 tables where they serve affordable food, hot drinks, and cold drinks – judging from what I've seen in their menu.
I wish I had more time to explore the big market; however, there will be another day 🥹.
Overall, great location, shops, and great people 🤩. I took some photographs, but I do recommend going and seeing things for yourself as it's more important.

Read moreCareful please! I used to love this market thinking that I was supporting a sustainable business model , independent businesses and artists. So you can imagine my deception when I found out some businesses that brand themselves as "hand made" are actually doing 100% sourcing from Alixepress and alike. HOW IS THAT SUSTAINABLE and environmental friendly. How are you supporting an artist when all you do is actually indirectly contributing to modern slavery buying a product 10 times the price, coming all the way from China and branded by the "small hard working creator" as their own creations !? I took the matter to the red brick market, baffled and thinking they might just not know and would react! ... Or not. They, here I am quoting: "encourage each vendor not to base their whole business on wholesale" . So they know and instead of letting the customer, us, know they let sellers lie to us and fool us. Please, before buying there, click a pic, paste it on aliexpress or google and see what comes out. Support the real...
