TLDR: The elevator works again! we had a great stay and highly recommend this place, based on our experience
Before coming here, I was slightly worried because I read the reviews just before arriving. The reason I did so, is because communication with the place was a little bit rough at first and I didn't receive a payment link till a few hours before arrival - so I was scared that we would be arriving there and get the news that our room was not properly booked ( I am a stressed traveler okay? :-( )
But from there things went uphill fast. We received the payment link, paid, and got the follow up e-mail about the (late) check in etc. At arrival, the reception was still open so the lovely lady there gave us our keys + a promised bottle of wine (deal on their website).
And on top of all this: The lift works again! So we didn't have to use the stairs with our luggage - yay.
The room was great - it's just a nice little appartment with a nice kitchen (with stove, oven AND microwave + big fridge & freezer), laundry machine, living room, bathroom en bedroom. Everything looked clean - we closely checked things such as the bed because another big fear of mine was bed bugs - but everything was clean.
Noise was not that much of an issue either. We did, however, keep into account that the hotel is in the center and so there is always some noise to be expected from the street - in our opinion this is not something a hotel could change. I brought some earplugs just in case and slept like a baby.
Location was really good. It's walking distance from the train station and, even better, it's really close to China town! There's this cute, little bakery with the best food so highly recommend walking through that area if you are in birmingham.
all in all a great stay at Premier Suites and would definitely recommend this place if you want something low budget*, high quality
*low budget in comparison to other...

I regret to inform you about the highly disappointing experience my party and I had during our stay at Premier Suites Birmingham over the New Year's Eve period. The subpar service and lack of transparency have left us thoroughly dissatisfied.
Upon arrival, we were allocated a room on the 5th floor, situated at the end of the corridor. This placement was far from ideal, especially considering the presence of three smokers and one disabled person in our group. Shockingly, none of this information was disclosed during the booking process or check-in.
To make matters worse, when we raised these concerns with the receptionist, a person identified as "Dough Moore" with an Eastern European accent, we were met with rudeness and dismissiveness. It was disheartening to receive such a response, particularly given the inconveniences we were facing.
Furthermore, we were astounded to learn, upon our complaints, that the receptionist claimed to have left a message on my checkout day regarding a malfunctioning lift. This communication, if it indeed happened, was a day after our stay had concluded, making it utterly pointless and unhelpful.
The lack of transparency, coupled with the unprofessional behavior of the staff, has left a lasting negative impression on our New Year's Eve celebration. We expected a much higher standard of service, and unfortunately, Premier Suites Birmingham failed to meet even the most basic expectations.
We hope that this feedback prompts a reevaluation of the service standards at Premier Suites Birmingham and contributes to the improvement of the overall guest experience.

Read moreHave just come back from a weekend in the Birmingham suites. There is nothing premier about this accommodation.
Little things in here just didn’t make sense, an apartment that sleeps 4, yet the kettle only holds enough water to make 2 cups of teas/coffee and a toaster that makes 2 slices of toast, also there was only 1 sofa that has enough room for 2 people, the room was big enough to fit another, its little things like this that made our stay not as good as it could have been.
We Booked a 2 bed apartment for 4 of us, one of us had a bath, then we ran out of hot water and after an hour still no hot water. We called the emergency number and to be fair they sorted us out 2, 1 bed apartments and said we could keep all of them if we just wanted to use to shower, we think the apartment the hot water ran out of the boiler was on a timer, except it was in a locked cupboard, the other apartments, you had access to this. The 2nd apartment we were in the fuse ring that all the plug sockets and the boiler was on tripped our last morning and wouldn’t go back, so no hot water or plugs so had to back to the old apartment for this. The first apartment the rooms didn’t smell very clean and the 2nd apartment we were in stunk of cigarettes, the rooms are clean, just not very well maintained. The positives, our issues with water etc were sorted quickly and location was very good, wouldn’t...
