Clarks — Local services in Bolton

The 5 stars are for the shoes and young man who served us, not the whole experience. I took my grandson for his 1st pair of shoes. The member of staff who actually served us was great. He was patient, helpful, and didn't seem to get stressed when baby didn't want to have his feet measured, he couldn't have been any better, just a very nice young man, along with another male member of staff who offered extra help. I had a bit of trouble getting out of the shop. They had a barrier and a lady manning it. For some reason she mustn't have been able to see two adults with a pram waiting to get past her in her peripheral vision, another member of staff shouted her to get her attention, she then moved to the side but didn't move the barrier, when I mentioned I wouldn't be able to get the pram out she moved it a little to give us the smallest space to get out.(I work in retail so I'm always polite to staff as I know how hard it can be when dealing with customers. For some reason she wasn't being helpful at all.) Apart from that, we were very pleased with the service from the 2 young men who served us ...

All the staff were incredibly helpful at this Clarks, very well kempt store, helped reassure us on the fit of our sons shoes. Alex is a credit to Clarks and the store and was particularly helpful and explained in depth ( which is what you need to hear sometimes as parents!) why he was fitting our son in a particular style/size and helped accommodate what our son needed in a shoe, going out of his way to suggest alternatives even if it meant coming back with his arms full of boxes! He also booked us in at the store within the time frame that he suggested based on how quickly our son grows in clothes so that we could make sure to have our son measured at the (hopefully!) best time!...

So August is here and new school shoes were needed. Alex the Sales Assistant at Clark’s this morning made this annual ordeal a walk in the park! He was friendly and engaged the kids in discussions of their interests including anime, gaming and films. He engaged my good-self and was warm and open and professional in his approach to my sons feet (different sizes requiring insoles).
