This is regarding the JVC LT-40CR330 sold at Currys PC World, which is falsely advertised as supporting HDR10. My father purchased this TV after seeing HDR listed on the box and in Currys’ marketing. However, after connecting it to a PS5 and using a certified 4K HDMI cable, HDR could not be enabled. Upon researching, I discovered this TV only reaches around 300 nits peak brightness, far below the minimum 600 nits needed for proper HDR, and nowhere near the 1,000 nits recommended for true HDR quality. This is not just misleading — under the UK Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, it may be considered a criminal offense to advertise features that a product cannot technically deliver. šŸ“Ž I’ve attached: A screenshot of Currys’ advertisement showing ā€œHDR10 supportā€ Proof from HDTVTest, a trusted UK display review site, confirming this model only hits 250–300 nits If a TV does not meet the industry-standard brightness for HDR, HDR should not be listed in its specs or marketing. Currys and JVC are both responsible for ensuring their claims are technically accurate and not misleading to customers.

Bought two Canon lenses for my DSLR, really good prices and they price matched too šŸ‘Œ quick and professional service and they came out to my car and handed them over, as I had bought online and they were following strict Covid regulations. I would prefer to use an independent camera retailer, but they didn't have them in stock and I wanted them before this new Tier 4 lockdown began. Will use again, if needed

Went to purchase an item the belkin MagSafe charger, firstly made me wait 20 minutes before I was able to pay for my product furthermore cashier was then to busy talking to others to pay attention providing me with shocking customer service and left me without an e receipt making it difficult for me and others like me who have dyslexia. Will never be coming back to curry’s pc world

I’d seriously consider buying anything electronic (eg PC / laptops) at another store. Whilst their prices are competitive if anything goes wrong with your device during your warranty period then you’ll be seriously wishing you shopped elsewhere. After being promised a speedy 3 day turn around on a screen fault repair in warranty with my Ā£1500 Dell Laptop, things slowly turned into a protracted nightmare. I’ve kept a log of the amount of time I’ve wasted in a queue to, and speaking to, team know how (their in house repair team) which has now totalled over 90 minutes. Dell failed to supply them with the part required to complete the repair. I had to wait over 5 weeks before getting the all clear to go into the store to request a replacement or refund (28 day statutory period). After checking on the phone in the morning to Currys (20+ min wait) I was advised that I’d be able to walk straight into the store and get my refund. This proved once again not to be the correct advice. The staff in the store were unable to offer a refund without once again joining the queue on the phone at Team know how to get a code. Im writing this review in a nearby cafe whilst still waiting for my call back after nearly an hour of waiting. Why a refund can’t be issued after I’d checked before hand is anyones guess. This company has major issues that need to be dealt with otherwise plenty of other people will continue to have their time wasted and be out of pocket like I have. Its not even Xmas yet and I can only imagine the problems other people will experience if they have product issues after buying from their stores. This is probably the longest review I’ve ever wrote, given the amount of time they’ve kept me waiting it seems like I’ve had an opening. My complaint letter sent weeks ago about the mis-advice hasn’t been answered weeks later and is no doubt in Curry’s black hole of customer service complaints bin where no one can get given the correct advice and is kept waiting hours to get any resolution on the most basic of issues. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Ps on a side note the staff in this store are friendly and did everything they could, they too have been let down by their own internal issues relating to communicating to...

I had ordered a laptop on line and was awaiting for an email to click and collect on the 13 July. However I never recieved the collection email, which would allow me to wait in the car for currys to bring the item out to me. I phoned customer services and they informed me the laptop was ready for collection, he told me to inform the staff and they would bring it out. However when I spoke to the lady at the door she said the emails wont working and that I had to queue. If I wanted to queue I would never have done the click service. I wasnt happy and instead of trying to help me, she said you should have got the item delivered. I would have but delivery was over a week and the laptop was needed. Alway I had to queue to get in, I spoke to Ian the manager and he said the emails are working and that I should have recieved it. Well I didn't. I explained the situation and that perhaps there needs to be a separate queue for click collect as its not our fault your emails dont work effectively. But he wasnt really helpful, he was just reflecting the blame o to me. The lady at the door also interrupted as I was telling the manager the reason for not delivering, saying I was being stroppy. This is how currys customers are treated. The manager didn't even say to the lady dont talk to the customer like that. So basically dont bother with click collect as you still have to queue to go inside and get your item. Its not the way Currys have advertised where you inform them your waiting outside and they come out. Like many other reviews I too am Very Dissapointed...

Wow where do I start!! Went to purchase a TV.. Had to wait over 35 minutes to get told if it was in stock due to 'no staff' yet there was 3 staff stood talking to each other at the checkout without any customers. I asked a woman and said I wanted a smart TV, to which she replied "there all smart tvs" clearly there not! Fast forward to finally purchasing the TV.. The woman at the checkout was rude, couldn't even keep eye contact and was differing between another customer. She asked me to sign a contract but didn't even let me read it first! When I questioned her about it, she said it'd me all day then laughed! Then she wouldn't even let me explain I wasn't going to sign something I hadn't read. I signed everything and was told to wait, she then got on the phone and pretty much argued with another colleague to bring the TV down. After she threatened him with the manager, a guy came and brought the TV down, no consideration AT ALL! Pretty much just chucked it down on the counter and walked off. He'd damaged the box where you hold it so when I got it home and took it out of the car it I nearly dropped it! Absolutely disgusting, overall it was absolutely shambles. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. Currys get your staff...
