Visited MYNK Steakhouse on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday with friends. From the moment we stepped in, the restaurant had a warm and inviting ambiance. The waiting area, though not needed due to a quiet evening, was a nice touch with comfortable sofas. The floral and contemporary décor added a stylish, Instagrammable feel to the space. Though the restaurant itself was small, the table arrangements allowed for a comfortable dining experience without feeling overcrowded.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. However, the service felt somewhat inexperienced, as many of the staff members seemed quite young and unfamiliar with the menu. While polite, some lacked professionalism, especially when giggling while we took group photos.
Service & Food: Service was a bit of a mixed bag. We had to call someone over to take our order after waiting for a while, but on the plus side, the food arrived together, which was appreciated.
The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly as requested (medium-well) and paired beautifully with the garlic butter and peppercorn sauce, which were both full of flavor. The roasted vegetables were a standout, offering a great mix of roasted carrots, pak choi, tenderstem broccoli, and even roasted potatoes—a nice surprise.
The mash was one of the best I’ve had—smooth, creamy, and perfectly seasoned with no lumps. The skin-on fries were crispy without being greasy. However, the mac and cheese was initially disappointing—underseasoned, dry, and lacking flavour. Fortunately, the staff handled the feedback well and had the chef remake it. The second attempt was much better—creamy, cheesy, and well-seasoned.
Drinks: Mocktails were a hit in terms of taste but not in presentation. Some looked quite transparent and came in smaller glasses (particularly the Virgin and Tropical), whereas the Tiffany and Kissed on the Beach were more generously sized. However, all the flavors were delicious, with “Kissed on the Beach” being my personal favorite.
Final Thoughts: Towards the end, the service dipped again as we weren’t approached for the bill or offered a dessert menu. We had to call for the bill several times, which was frustrating.
Despite the service issues, I would definitely visit again. The food was of a high standard, and the quality of ingredients was evident. Prices were on the higher side but justified by the overall experience. It was also a pleasant surprise that no service charge was added to the bill.
I’m looking forward to returning, especially to try the Sunday roast, which looks impressive. However, I hope to see some improvements in...

Mynk Steakhouse offered a memorable Sunday dinner experience with impressive portions, flavorful dishes, and excellent presentation. While the food shone, there are a couple of areas where the ambiance could be improved to enhance the overall experience.
Food Quality and Presentation The food was good, with massive portions that were sure to satisfy even the largest appetites. The meats were cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and served with great attention to detail. Each dish was beautifully presented, demonstrating a commitment to quality and aesthetics. Both the starters and main courses were delicious, leaving us eager to explore more of the menu on our next visit.
Service The service was efficient and attentive, with friendly staff ensuring we had a pleasant experience. They struck a good balance between being responsive and giving us space to enjoy our meal.
Ambiance and Atmosphere While the food was excellent, the ambiance could use some fine-tuning. The music leaned heavily toward a nightclub vibe, with upbeat, loud tracks that felt out of place for a relaxing Sunday dinner. A shift to slower, mellow tracks would create a more fitting and enjoyable atmosphere.
Another notable issue was the method of heating the space. A large fan burner was used, which was both loud and disruptive when turned on between meals. This detracted from the otherwise pleasant dining experience. A quieter and more sophisticated heating solution would greatly improve the comfort and ambiance for diners.
Value for Money For two Sunday dinners, including starters and drinks, the total cost came to about £65. This was excellent value considering the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes, making it a worthwhile choice for those seeking hearty, flavorful meals.
Final Thoughts Mynk Steakhouse stands out for its delicious food, substantial portions, and good service. While the music and heating arrangements need attention, these are minor criticisms in an otherwise enjoyable experience. We’re looking forward to returning to explore more of the menu and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying and reasonably priced...
Read moreUpon entering Mynx Steakhouse, one is greeted by a decor that can only be described as "eclectic." On one side, a serene underwater escape with fishes gently floating by, while on the other, a giant teddy bear looms, perhaps questioning its life choices. The pink lighting added a touch of glamour for some of our group, though for me, it was like dining inside a candy floss machine - charming, but I couldn’t see the true colours of my food, which left me slightly perturbed.
The facilities were, unfortunately, less stellar. One toilet door had a broken lock, and the sink’s vinyl wrap seemed to be staging a dramatic exit. One simply expects better in a place where the prices match the area code.
Our waitresses, though friendly, exuded an air of youth and inexperience. Getting their attention was akin to flagging down a reluctant pigeon. However, their amiability was their saving grace.
Adding to the experience, two of the dishes we initially wanted were not available. To our dismay, this information wasn't shared until we had made our selections, leaving us scrambling for alternatives.
Now, on to the mocktails – delightful, refreshing, and precisely what one would hope for. A win for the beverage team.
The steak was well-cooked, adorned with a "dressing" that added a pleasant touch. However, the accompanying mash blobs were so small, they seemed to be there more for moral support than sustenance.
The sliders, priced at an eye-watering £18, were an adventure in minimalism. Tiny, bite-sized gobs that left us pondering the cosmic relationship between size and value.
The dynamite chicken was a salt enthusiast's dream – the saltiest dish I've ever encountered. If you love salt more than life itself, this one's for you.
However, the hot shot paramo was a revelation. Delicious, and quite possibly one of the best I've had – a shining star amidst the culinary quirks.
The food, while decent in flavour, did take its sweet time to make an appearance. Perhaps it was enjoying the pink ambiance as much as some...
