This is the best way across to the SS Great Britain from the Harbour Hub and other places north of the river. It currently costs £1.20 and avoids a long walk around to one of bridges. There is level access onto the boat so it can take wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Used this little ferry to get from Anchor Road to the SS Great Britain. Really good location and good fun to do. The ferryman was friendly and helpful. Saved a bit of a trek to the nearest bridge.

Was confused by Google maps saying to walk on water when a small ferry appeared to save me a long walk around, cost £1.30 and a nice chat from the captain

I'd give this 0 stars if possible due to the extremely rude man operating the boat river crossing!!

I stopped to ask the man if they allowed dogs on the boat and said I'd be back in a few days. He seemed pleasant enough but as I walked away he mocked me to the customers on the boat sarcastically announcing "thanks very much for looking at my sign and saving me my breath!" First of all there was no sign on the boat at all which to my mind would be logical and by the state of the boat would also only take him about 5 minutes to make. Secondly I'd rather walk than encourage rude people like this to offer services in the beautiful city if Bristol! You're letting the place down mate! Maybe it's time to find another vocation if you hate members of the public that much! Lastly, instead of blaming customers for not reading your sign along the rivers edge which was not branded to the boat or obvious in any way, maybe you could add a sign to your boat along with the one whoch states the price! Not a very intelligent business model to blame others and put people off using your service and putting money in your pocket when you could just add the info on your boat! I'll be walking the 4k instead of getting on your boat....

Every year, at the harbour festival, we take my brother (who is in a wheelchair) across in the boat. In the fifeteen minutes it takes to queue up and cross we get about twenty instructions barked at us in the guise of safety instructions. Except that every year they are completely different, obviously made up on the spot and make little actual sense - go on first, go on last, which way to face, where to stand on the dock (some years in four different spaces during one five minute wait). This makes what should be a fun part of the day entirely joyless...

Disorganised and unfriendly! Boat only holds 12 people, so those that can't get on are told to wait in a corner of the dock. When boat returns, other people have pushed in front and staff don't remember who they had told to wait. How about making an area to queue so things are a bit organised and people aren't arguing over who was first. Warning, if you do get on what out for the "captain" as she has a volatile temper which we...
