I don’t think I have ever been spoken to so rudely in a pub before. I’m working away for this week and had been told about a cat pub so decided to check it out. When ordering a beer the tall guy behind the bar seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else, didn’t look at me once and rolled his eyes multiple times while I was asking about the beers. He made it seem like a real inconvenience when I ordered a can.

I was then on the phone to my girlfriend who I hadn’t seen for a week and a second guy who worked there, older with the beard came over and confronted me and said I needed to stop talking to myself! When I told him I was on the phone he said that I needed to stop because people thought I was talking to them. I was really baffled because it was quite clear I was on the phone, not one other customer payed any notice.

In the end I abandoned my beer just after that encounter, I have never felt more unwelcome in a place. The cats are nice but the people running that pub made me feel out of place as soon as I got in the door.
