Good cat filled pub. Sure, the cat wee' smell can hit you as you enter but there are thirteen cats living here and you are the guest, it doesn't linger either. Keep that in mind. I sat at the bar with my friend and the grumpy Siamese cat, Wolfgang. He was given a sign after trying to bite me after too much fuss, which I found hilarious. Great team of two girls on the bar too. All good. Spoke with the landlord and I can see why previous reviewers would say he's rude. He isn't rude at all. He is just passionate about quality beers, traditional pubs and his cats. You can't call Wetherspoons a proper pub after attending Bag of Nails.

I don't get all the negative reviews. This is always a stop off for us on Bristol trips and has such a chilled out, friendly vibe. It's always lovely to see the kitties and watch them basking in the sun. There's a great selection of craft beer - sometimes the draft stuff could be a bit colder but an easy way around that is to opt for a cider or a canned beer. Good tunes always playing on the record player and the list of rules put up by the pub landlord is spot on! A great place that will remain a firm fixture of our Bristol adventures.

Stinks of cat piss, obviously but that’s ok. The problem is the incredibly rude staff. 5/7 of us ordered a pint and she had a go at the 2 for not ordering, and not in a funny way. Horrible banter on the signs as well with excessive swearing. No problem with the swearing but it’s just very year 7 humour. Edit: I might cry they are genuinely horrible. We weren’t taking up space they have a whole other empty room they could have put us in if it was a problem. Also I don’t care about the fact that they swore i was just saying it’s unfunny

It’s a pub with some cats. A decent selection of beer, but a little cramped. Lots of signs telling you not what you can do and not do and to F off if you don’t. Don’t pick up the cats under any circumstances as you will get yelled at by the staff. There is a faded F off sign above the bar with this rule. Personally seeing customers being yelled at breaking rules was a bit of a weird experience. It was enough to exit the pub together with a few other people. The hospitable part of hospitality seems to have been lost here so moved on.

I first went in here because I wanted to pet some of their lovely cats and taste great local beers. I kept coming back because I live nearby and the pub stole my heart. People are absolutely amazing there, both staff and the regulars. The poker tournaments on Mondays are so much fun. The cats all have their amazing personalities as well and I can't imagine a week without stopping by at least a few times. Highly recommended, the best local I've ever had. By far.

Lovely smalm cat pub. The oub itself is small and you might be able to spot 4 cats, but apparently they have 14 cats. It is small and cosy, but the staff were friendly and accommodating. The felines are beautiful and some can be playful as well. It's definitely a must if you are a cat person.
