Not only the beer pint price on the board says £5.18 and then they charge you £6.50, they also charge a small wine £5.60 without even showing price. All this for plastic cup take away drinks. I also asked to use a plug inside to charge my phone as i needed battery to get home and they said “no, sorry as we’re only open outside” so then I asked to use the outside plug instead and they said no again, without providing a reason. Appalling customer service and pricing! Clearly just taking advantage of harbourside location. ZERO stars!

Such a lovely venue for a private doo, the dining room was intimate, cosy and welcoming. The staff too gave such a great service, always available with that nice balance, where they're not overly attentive but give you all space to simply enjoy the occasion and sit around the table or on the comfy armchairs around the room and relax. Big shout out to Beth too, who managed my best friends booking- an absolute delight to work with, thank you

Very enjoyable place for a drink with seating inside and out. I stopped here for a drink during a good walk around the docks area. I ordered a diet coke and ginger beer but was a bit surprised that it was over £8 in total. A bit expensive for non alcoholic drinks to be honest. Service was good though and seats comfortable. Easy access from outside into the bar fir those who have mobility issues.

A truly remarkable and wonderful venue to host a special joyous occasion. Thank you so much Brown & Bye.

Planned several months prior, and many communication with the various members of the Events team, I organised a ‘Death To My Twenties’ event at Brown & Bye, to celebrate the turning of 30! Myself and my guests had a phenomenal experience and time. I hired the use of the projector suite, which has fantastic facilities and a great space for gathering of guests, as well as the wine bar, which held over 20 of my guests and 2 babies. The furniture and aesthetic particularly in the projector suite is perfect for hosting a function / event! The main entrance has a lovely set of various sized mirrors, really nice lighting, and some bespoke pieces which add to the interior / decorative features, and there is a wide array of comfy furniture including different sized tables and lots of seating. It’s in a beautiful prime spot too, being so close to the harbour. There is fantastic outdoor seating available too with a number of picnic benches, with umbrella’s and you can enjoy watching the boats sail.

Within the venue, we had use of the projector, and a custom made playlist throughout the whole venue being played during my event. I provided decorations, props, and a lot of small details and little touches to cater for the events’ theme (putting the FUN in FUNERAL!), and my guests absolutely loved and cherished everything. With activities, a table decorated and a custom made cake from DidiCakes, there was lots to admire. Everyone was wearing a dress code of ‘ALL BLACK’, accessories and shades; the staff were extremely complimentary, and so full of sincere hospitality. Rosanna was on hand to serve me and my guests their drinks. Very quick service, and each time with warmth and a smile. The food was incredible, rave reviews from everyone. We had pre-ordered a mixture of sourdough pizza’s, afternoon tea’s and canapé’s as well as some drinks on arrival, and everything was handled with such care. The food came out hot, tasted sublime, and the service was brilliant. Amy navigated well tremendously amongst the busy atmosphere superbly well, and we were all so happy to help.

The venue itself, is in a great location, and offers much outdoor seating too. Altogether, the venue itself is very clean, very tidy and has a lot of character to it, something which appealed to me instantly. I also kindly contributed to the closing down of my guests time in the wine bar to help maintain the smooth running of the venue and together we put in a remarkable team effort to set up at the beginning and close down the projector suite at the end, accordingly.

One major highlight too was meeting the incredibly talented and attentive, Amy. Amy, incredibly professional, friendly and so sweet, sincere and kind, thank you so much for all of your efforts and attentiveness. We were in the most safest hands, in the midst of your experience and abilities to help the event run smoothly and honestly I think you offered major credibility to this event going ahead so well, so thank you so much for all of your dedicated efforts. Myself and my guests were in complete awe of your skillset, attentiveness and personality.

On a final note, I just want to thank Brown & Bye for such a fantastic experience! Thank you, again. I would happily come back and I highly recommend this delightful gem of a venue for any celebration!

The event was a success and...

As someone who isn't from Bristol, Brown & Bye was an accidental find! We just finished our trip on the SS Great Britain Boat and we wanted to get the tour boat that took us across Bristol but we discovered we got on the wrong boat!

We saw the bright side of this and figured to make the most of it Brown & Bye was hidden along the side and we were keen to check it out. Their menu is a little limited but don't make that out you off as we opted for the toastie, well the cheese, onion chutney and chorizo toastie and that came along with crisps too and I have to admit this was very good. It was just the right amount of flavour and we enjoyed every bite.

We have sat both inside and out and I would recommend sitting outside you can so you can take in the views. The staff were very good with us and made sure we were fully satisfied. The hospitality industry is fierce and to this day we love coming to Brown & Bye because we know we are going to get quality food, good service and beautiful views.

I've also taken some time to read the reviews so I can get a better understanding of what people think most of the complaints are about the price but they aren't accounting for the quiet season when Brown & Bue probably goes weeks without a customer and they still have rent to pay. I honestly thought my price was very fair and we had a lovely lunch. No complaints...

We used the private space at Brown and Bye for a baby shower. The team were lovely to deal with, super helpful and flexible around some specific requirements we had. On the day, we arrived to find the room laid out exactly as we had asked. It was the perfect venue with both inside and outside space on the harbour front. The afternoon tea, made on the premises was excellent.5 stars for the sandwiches which were fresh and delicious and the brownies were hard to beat. Beth was on hand all the time and with the help of Jordan, looked after us in a very helpful and friendly way. No fussing, but just always there when we needed something or when guests were at the bar. We have used many venues for all kinds of events and this was absolutely up there as one of the best. The guests loved it and it was a perfect afternoon. Huge thanks to Beth,...
