I walked in on a Saturday around 10:30 and asked to be sat outside for breakfast. Who I presume to be the manager, slinging drinks behind the bar, told me to seat myself. Reading the previous reviews of poor service, I knew what I was signing up for. I sat myself at an obvious table so that I’d be seen by the one waiter, who had 3 other tables at the point I sat down. I watched for ten minutes as he brought tea out for another table, bussed a table, and popped back in and out a few times, staring off into the distance. Finally I waved him over (to, again, my very-obvious-to-notice table) and asked if I could see a menu. He sounded shocked to see me there, but returned with a menu a few minutes later. By now, there were 3 more tables sat, and several tables needing bussing - sign of more delays to my own service ahead, perhaps, but it was a Saturday, relatively nice outdoors, and I had nothing else to do.

Roughly 5 more minutes passed until my waiter returned. I ordered the smashed avocado, a glass of Prosecco, and asked for a water as well. The wait was on.

10 minutes passed and I watched a table sat after me get a smashed avocado delivered. I knew it was mine, but again, was in no rush so I didn’t say anything. A few moments later, the waiter came out and asked the customer if she had touched it yet, because he meant to deliver it to me. I interjected that it was okay and she could have it (I don’t know how much she’s touched it, after all…) but customer and waiter alike insisted I have it. I acquiesced as they insisted they hadn’t touched it, and who knew when or if I’d get another… I also felt I should bother him for the water, which I never ended up getting.

The avocado smash came without chili as advertised, at least as far as I could discern, which I was quite sad about. I squeezed the living daylight out of the lime wedge to compensate.

Overall, subpar service, basic food for a breakfast selection, lovely location, decent prices. I might come back to try something other than breakfast sometime, since I’m a glutton for punishment, but likely won’t return for a...

Well we must have hit an off day or some are very generous with their reviews. The weather wasn't great and it wasn't very busy so the service was good. We ordered fish and chips, it's a harbour restaurant so why order a burger! The meal arrived and they must have found a few minows to batter instead of full size fish. The pieces were small and the batter was bright yellow. Although I don't live in the UK, I was born here and have eaten loads of fish and chips over the years (decades) in the UK and was so surprised when this arrived. The fish was tasty out of the batter, but when you cut it, oil was visible and really detracted from the fish. Chips are chips, difficult to mess them up, however not impossible. Chips were ok. Overall disappointed with the batter and the portion size. We weren't looking for a massive meal, but I'm sure they had some larger fish to choose from. Please change the oil or the batter, not sure what, but will leave that to the experts. Can't say we will...

Great little bar down by the Harbourside with fantastic views across to the S.S Great Britain. I went along on a sunny Friday evening for drinks with some friends and was impressed at the quality of the cocktails (the Harbourside wouldn't be my first choice of location for proper high-end cocktails) however Harbour Hub seems to have changed this. You have the crowd pleasing frozen Pina Coladas (which are amazing!) alongside a selection of imaginative and very tasty cocktails. After trying a couple of the cocktails I went for a cold pint of Korev Cornish lager which was appreciated on a hot sunny July evening. We had dinner plans later in the evening but the chips and dips from the snack menu looked too good to resist (the cocktails may have contributed to this decision). The Bloody Mary ketchup is yummy and the chips are rustic. On a final note, a venue is only as good as it's staff and the staff here were very friendly and attentive. Will be going back, and not just...

I hired the space for my mums surprise 60th birthday. The whole experience couldn’t have been better from the initial booking, communication throughout and the night it self. All the guests commented on how attentive, helpful and polite the staff at harbour hub was and I couldn’t agree more. We all also enjoyed the food provided by harbour hub. The space itself is beautifully decorated and had ample seating for our party of 30+ guests I was reccomended harbour hub by a friend who had used thus venue previously and I will definitely be recommending in the future and also will be using the harbour hub for future events again. Thank you to all the staff at harbour for a great night and very memorable birthday for my mum

We had a bacon sarnie and a veggie sausage roll with coffee of our choice for £6.50; very friendly service and a cosy environment. You can eat outside on the tables they provide or inside and dogs are welcome too. A great little find with pleasant views of the SS Great Britain docked on the other side of the harbour. One thing also worth mentioning is that they added 10% service charge to our bill without making it known to us before payment, which is something they need to inform customers of prior to the bill being created; it ought to be a common curtesy for customers to have a choice over such matters hence four stars rather than five.
