I ordered a delivery from here this evening, unfortunately the delivery does not reach our address so I noted on the order the address of the pub up the road, advising we would meet the driver here. I then received a call right after the order was received, confirming with the restaurant that we would meet them there and that the driver would ring 5 mins prior to arrival. I contacted the restaurant when the order had been 5 minutes over expected delivery time and was told the driver had set off and they would call him to confirm to call us 5 minutes before he reached the pub. My partner set off just as I came off the phone, as the pub was only a couple of minutes up the road. I then had to call again due to delay and was told they would contact the driver, then call me back. I did not receive a call back as promised so called again, to be told that someone was stood outside the pub with our order receipt and the food has been delivered to him. This seems near impossible since the receipt was on my phone and I was sat in our lounge a quarter of a mile away so I’m not sure on that explanation… Moreover, my partner was sat in his car and didn’t see anyone handing anything to any passers by, so not 100% sure of the validity of the drivers story. Overall we waited an hour and 40 minutes for an order that we don’t believe even left the restaurant. I would maybe understand a mix up like this if the instructions hadn’t been clear, but I’m not sure how much clearer you can get than writing it on page and speaking about it twice on the phone - possible staff training needed and maybe a sat nav invested in for drivers? After asking how the restaurant plan to appease their mistake for their customer, they said we could order again and pick up from the restaurant and pay for the order…so go out of our way to amend their terrible service. They even struggled to hold in laughter on the phone as they “didn’t know what to do”
It’s a shame really because I’ve ordered from here before and enjoyed it but won’t be doing so again after this shocking service. Save yourself some time and order from Syhiba or Kiplings instead, you might actually...
Read moreMy wife and I visited on a Sunday afternoon as we were in town and fancied a curry. We'd not been before, but the reviews looked promising, so we thought we would give it a go. As we entered, we were treated by a very friendly gentleman, who let us pick our table (the restaurant was empty as they'd only just opened). The ladies taking our order and serving our food were very polite and attentive throughout our meal. We ordered poppadoms and pickle tray and these were very fresh and tasty. We didn't have starters as we didn't have a lot of time, so we ordered 2 mains (Chicken Achari & Gosht Tikka Masala), garlic naan, mushroom rice and chips. All the food was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The flavours of the currys were rich and deep, complimented by the flavourful rice. The naan and chips were a perfect accompaniment and just the right amount for 2 of us to share. Overall, we loved the food and service and will definitely be back. The prices are also very reasonable, especially with the restaurant being in the town centre. We enjoy a good curry and can't believe we've not been here before! One thing to note, the restaurant is cash only, although they do take bank transfer if you have online/mobile...
Read moreReview for Spice Delight Hotel: Poor Service and Disappointing Experience
I had high hopes for Spice Delight Hotel, but sadly, the experience was quite disappointing. Upon entering, we asked the waitress about the closing time, and she informed us that they close when all the clients leave, with the last order at 11 pm. However, at 9:10 pm, the manager rudely approached us, insisting that we order immediately as they were closing. This completely ruined our evening, as we were hoping to have a relaxing, enjoyable meal. The manager's attitude was shockingly rude, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. To add to the disappointment, the food was just average—definitely not worth the poor service we received. And to top it all off, they only accept cash payments, which is quite surprising and inconvenient in this day and age. If you're looking for good service and a pleasant dining experience, this is not the place to go. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend Spice...
