I returned the Kate Coat a 2nd time, to the Scotland shop as it was badly cut and still too big. My son's waistcoat was sent back to us a 2nd time and was 2 sizes too small and unwearable, so was returned for a refund. My father's belt was 4 sizes too big on the 2nd go around and I had to pay to have it fixed here myself. I wouldn't recommend having anything custom made here, stick to buying items off the shelf.

Nov. 2024 I edited my initial 5 star review from July 2024 down to 3 stars as at 18 November 2024. After spending in excess of £3000 pounds, I am unfortunately still in communication with the Scotland Shop. When the items arrived (late) there were sizing errors of every custom made item, bar one. Tragically, the items did not arrive in time for our 60th year reunion, the reason for the purchase. Another return and refund request has been issued, again, today. I will be returning my son's waistcoat, which is way too small, as well as my clan tartan Kate coat, that is still too big. I was offered less than a 5% refund, which my father and I considered to be most unsatisfactory considering the stress and anxiety and endless back and forth emailing we are still enduring almost 5 months later.

JULY 2024: My father and I visited the Scotland Shop in Edinburgh and we were impressed by the range of items available for custom measure and fit in our clan tartan. Rebekah measured my father for a kilt as well as measuring me for a beautifully cut woman's jacket in our clan tartan for me. We left the Scotland Shop feeling confident and excited about our new attire that is being posted back to Australia. Fingers crossed it all...

Visited this shop on 28.05.2024 during our trip to Scotland. Within the shop there are two areas: where you can buy already available goods and studio-fitting room where you can without rush agree on your custom order. The customer service was amazing, and especially big thanks to Lisa(if I recall correctly), who worked that day there and who is such a passionate young lady. She patiently waited while I was choosing among 500+ different tartans (that was not an easy choice, lol), took all my measurements and politely answered all the questions to ensure, that my custom-tailored order will 100% match my needs (I wanted bow tie fully match the skirt, with green and white colors visible, so she promised the tailor could do it and it was delivered just as promised). Overall, as a person who interested in traditional clothing but in my own country, I was pleased to talk to someone who shares the enthusiasm about traditional clothing. The order was prepared and delivered to my country in 1.5months, which is not a short period, although it is totally justified in my opinion. I paid 380£ for items and delivery alltogether upon the time of my visit, which I believe to be a fair price.

My first recommendation - is beware of this shop. You may end up disappointed as we were on two occasions. My husband and I used this shop twice for our wedding, given our Scottish ancestry. For our registry wedding - I had a pair of tartan shoes made. I had ordered it 12 weeks prior to the day to ensure all was ok. There was very little communication from the shop during this process, and I instigated on many occasions emails to ask for an update. A week before our wedding, the shoes had not arrived! After many emails later the shoes turned up the night before the wedding and we had to go and pick them up from a warehouse as the shop had written the wrong address. For our separate wedding reception occasion - my husband had a pair of tartan shorts made. Despite going to Edinburgh for measurements, sending a pair of his own shorts back for them to copy, as well as multiple emails the shorts after 2 attempts did not fit. There was no offer to help us at all and so we have had to go to another tailor to pay additional fee to get them fixed. There needs to be much improvement in the customer service of this shop. We both had given them a second go to improve after my shoe angst, but in hindsight we should have gone...
