EDIT: after writing the below review and getting in touch with Arena Shopping management team, I received a prompt response from Peter Hardingham, Area Centre Manager, who resolved this matter in no time and PCN has been cancelled. Thank you so much for your fast resolution and hope that we can avoid any issues in the future.
Previous review: Arena shopping centre is operated by the worst private parking company ever! My wife was buying flowers from the Flower Pot located at Arena shopping centre parking, and as it was raining, I stopped close by the Flower Pot to pick her up so she wouldn't have to walk in the rain. Therefore, a week later, I received a parking fine of £100 stating that I parked my car against their parking rules. They have only provided me with two pictures (a minute between each picture) of my car rear stating that car was parked and left unattended, but in FACT car was never left unattended and engine was on as I only stopped to pick up my wife! Due tinted car windows it is not visible from provided pictures if a drive is present or not! I requested to provide me with further evidence, like a CCTV footage or further pictures showing me leaving the car but this request was refused! Company stated that they have a grace period for stopping but this was not applicable to my case as I parked and left car unattended! But no evidence provided of this! I always used to use this shopping centre as it is close by me, but because of this New private parking company I will no longer be using this shopping centre and would not recommend...
Read moreI've used the Arena on and off since it opened. There is a reasonable choice of stores to buy anything from food to sports goods plus you can get a hair cut in-between!! Tesco is 24 hours (except Sunday), and I think the majority of the other stores are open till 8pm.
Decathlon is good for sports wear and equipment; Boots has a midnight pharmacy Monday - Saturday; Tesco is well stocked and has a wider choice than other stores; Within the park itself, there's a number of places to eat from Decks to Chiquito; Starbucks and Costa Coffee are in New Look and Next respectively. Starbucks has the edge in my opinion due to the mobile ordering;
The parking is free, and it has a reasonable amount of disabled or parent/child parking spaces, however, when it's really busy (or raining), these are most likely to be taken by those who don't really need them, as no-one seems interested in making sure those who need the spaces get to use them. I'm not sure of the public transport links are like, but would assume there are some. Had some of my trips not involved driving around the car park aimlessly trying to find a parking spot which required enough space to get a wheelchair out of the car and the...
Read moreAlways good to go shopping! My first thought is the Arena! You have a Tesco’s superstore if you can’t find it there.... did you really need it? Along with a lovely Next Fashion, and Home store further down both of which are great! (Not very wheelchair friendly mind you. Be careful!) New look is lovely! Always like shopping there, some drab faces on the employees but most are cheerful and peppy. Marks and Spencer’s is a must! This store favours the Food Hall as it should! Whilst the clothes at marks and Spencer’s are high quality they can be sometimes a little out dated. The food Is always good there! Be careful when it comes to dates have had a few things that have been missed for that day, their reductions don’t make any sense so stay away from reduced products as it’s only 10p/20p off, hardly worth it. The two homeward stores are quite good! I’ve not been in the pet store personally but it’s always busy when I walk past! I’m sure that the opening of Nando’s inside the Tesco lot will bring more business in! I would recommend...
