Revisit 6 months later and things have got worse since my last review, down to one star for service which is now about as close to contempt for the customer as you can get...there is something wrong with the staff training here, or, judging from the conversations I overheard between staff, there is a lack of staff and they are overworked and tired, so I do have some sympathy for them, but as a customer I want a smile and polite service, I don't want to feel guilty that by ordering a coffee that I've somehow made someone else's day a whole lot worse.
So management, get better at managing your team, make them feel appreciated and worth something, let those smiles come naturally rather than forced through gritted teeth, you represent a multi national company and yes, you can do better.
My interaction this time, ordering a coffee, presented with a cold coffee, when I complained was told it was because I had asked for milk....gone are the days you put your own milk in and if the so called barista is going to add milk at least a) let me say "stop" so as not to make it a latte or b) ask me if I want my milk warm (yes please), but just confirms the lack of care and lack of interest from the staff...I mean Starbucks don't even have proper coffee machines anymore, just press a button.
Previous review Slow service, the barista seemed to be learning on the job, my Americano was tepid and filled to the absolute brim despite the order asking for space for milk (filled to brim also meant the coffee was diluted too much and it tasted bland).
Plus why is Starbucks the only coffee shop where your coffee has bubbles on the top, coffee should have a lovely crema, not so at this Starbucks.
Add to that the way overpriced cookies and sandwiches and I think this may be my last visit...
Read moreOrdered a cool lime refresha and a hot white mocha with multiple modifications and two food items. It took around 8 minutes to be served ( there was no line and this is including the order being taken ). Jayne served us on till, we used our blue light card and asked to pay via Starbucks card as we had £10 on there. We paid for the rest of the order but realised that this didn't add up. Instead of using the money on the card she used my stars... unsure how this happened when i had clearly asked for the money to be used. We were waiting for our order at the end and she gave our food but then told us it wasn't our food when it was. Drinks and food were correct 😋
Atmosphere was nice, music was the correct volume and wasn't too busy on our visit ( lunchtime on a Friday ). Suggestion: Jayne gets a bit more training on how to use the tills and Starbucks app. Also suggestion maybe the person on till pos turns their headset mic off so that the person on drive thru pos can hear the customer in drive thru clearly without till pos...
Read moreHad to edit my review. Used to be our favourite place. I am not the one who can't have patience etc. But this place is so under-staffed. So I come in, find a table, waiting if someone's gonna turn up to clean the table before I order. No. 10 minutes gone. I went to the till. I experienced I'm a ghost for 15 minutes. Then my partner went to switch with me. 30 minutes gone. No coffee. My partner managed to get someone who cleaned the table I've almost got sick of. I'm not that sensitive usually. But I did feel bad looking at it. I ordered two drinks advertised all over the place through the app. Only to find out after another 10 minutes it's sold out 😂. They also changed the chilling music to some new age crap. So instead of having some nice coffee boost I left the place super tired instead. Terrible. OR: Pretty cosy with decent...
