I first went to this place in February with my flatmate. The service was the best. Before doing the contour lines of my beard on the cheeks and neck they applied hot towels on my face and also some aftershave cream after. I also got my unibrow waxed. All these and a haircut was £19 and they gave me a student discount and in the end I paid £17.
I went back here on the 26th of May making an online booking with the same guy that got my haircut the first time (haircut selected online said it would cost £15). I asked for the same haircut but I was very disappointed. The haircut was mediocre. He didn't use hot towels and neither aftershave which resulted marks on my neck (see photo). The contour lines were not as precise as the first time. For a much poorer service than the first time (no towers, razor cuts) I was charged £20. This time I also did not request my unibrow to be waxed! After I showed my student card for the student discount I was told that the £20 price included the student discount...
It's a pity to look back at how dedicated they used to be. In February there were only 3 barbers. They were very friendly, asked us to recommend the service to our classmates. They told me and my flatmate that a good haircut is not cheap. And it was true, £17 pound is not cheap, but the first haircut I got in February was great. After a few months, and extra 4 barbers, it seems they aren't paying that much attention to customers.
Unfortunately, I will not go to this place again but I hope this feedback will help you get...
Read moreThe haircut was awful, my hair was uneven but i didn't mind my hair i mind how the guy did it, while he was shaving the back of my head he kept bumping the razor to my skull as hard as he could, normal people would probably stop him and say "chill it hurts" but as for me and my anxiety i couldn't really care and just went with it.
I pretty much got fooled by the massive amount of 5* reviews and i thought id try something new in the area. if you don't have a booking with a real barber on this place well you're in luck, as you'll get someone from the back with minimal experience. that's probably why they'll cut your hair from the back so the big window of advertisement of people walking by wouldnt see how bad it is.
Hopefully anyone coming here wouldn't get as much luck as me.
Edit : As for the reply this particular haircut i didnt write a review instantly because of my anxiety that that particular barber will remember me. And i dont really want anything to happen im just writing so that people are aware that not everything is 100% accurate about this place as 5*...
Read moreI have had my fair share of awful barbers in bournemouth. It seems a lot of shops are not adequately trained or qualified. I have had my hair butchered and my ears cut. I decided i was going to give one more place a go instead of travelling 2 hours to my barber back home. I came across true gents and was greeted by a chap with lots of tattoos(cannot rememeber the name, possibly arts?) we had a great conversation and i had told him about my previous experience blah blah. Anyway turns out he has had experience cutting german hair and however i am not german but my hairstyle is popular over there so he knew what he was doing and when he was walking me through it i could tell he loved his job and i did not care if he was qualified but that he treated it like art. Great job super happy. fade to 3 then a 20% weighting on top. wont forget...
