My friend had been going through a tough week. We were at another cafe, but it was too noisy. So we came here. We've been here before and had no complaints about the service. My friend had many things too attend to including a phone call from a worried mother. While she was taking the call, one of the baristas came upstairs and pressed us to order. She was rude and seemed ignorant of the customers' needs. When the drinks came up, she pressed us immediately to pay. Right there at the table. The music was loud, so she went outside to take the call. The barista took this quite badly and left - clearly offended. I was working on a project, but it was impossible to work due to the chatter I could hear downstairs. The barista was talking about my friend behind her back. I went to the counter and asked if there was a problem. She accused my friend of being impolite and failing to say thank you. I tried to explain that my friend had been having a tough week and to have some empathy. She instead chose to go on about how we should have gone to Starbucks and how offended she was about her walking out like that. But the fact was, she was in a call. She seemed to accept this, but when I returned upstairs - all I could hear was a return to the talking behind her back. Nothing had been resolved. My friend felt humiliated. Everyone was staring at her when she left due to the lies of barista. She did not understand her situation. And my friend wasn't in the mood to be talking...

I can tell that they use premium beans and have clearly but effort into retaining the oils which are so vital for not just the smell but also the taste of a good coffee. Although probably the smallest coffee shop I have ever been to, the space if used beautifully and creates a cozy rather than cramped space. Now the only reason I am not giving it a 5/5 is because the wait was rather long and as I was just passing through it left me little time to enjoy my coffee, but other than that a great place to go for an intimate coffee experience that I...
Read moreOne of my favourite coffeeshops in Bournemouth, keep small independent establishments like this alive! Cosy place, perfect if you want an afternoon alone, or want to catch up with a friend. Their cakes are home baked and lovely, coffee is perfect and they are always happy to accommodate your requests. The staff is super friendly and chirpy. You can sit outside when the weather is nice, but its quite comfy upstairs, with squishy cushions and chalk paint walls where you can doodle. They have also left some colouring books and sketchpads around, so its always interesting to discover people's muses :) they also have a great selection of music playing in the background, and are dog-friendly and are open until about 7pm on most days. Thumbs up to...
