Completely dissatisfied and disappointed with our experience with Taunton’s Bensons for Beds. Initially, the salesman who helped us was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. However, when the bed was delivered to us, we had screws missing and the headboard itself was faulty. We called the store - as we ordered it from them - and they quickly told us it was nothing to do with them, that we had to call generic customer service but they would be closed now (at 5:30pm) We called anyway and they were actually opened until 7pm.
There seems to be zero benefit ordering from in store because the “aftercare” is non-existent. I would just use it a place to test beds and then order online from elsewhere. They could not care less (at least, that was how it came across!)
Don’t get me started on the “customer care” online either. It has since taken 2 weeks to get any resolution to our issue, partly because they refused to discuss the issues with me without my husband’s permission due to GDPR - despite my name and details also being on the order!

Read moreI raised an issue regarding the fact that our Mattress Protector was not delivered with our mattress as it was out of stock. We had paid for protection cover for the mattress which included the free mattress protector. Customer services told us there was nothing they could do about this and we had to return to the shop. I still feel that the mattress protector is an essential part of the protection cover - protecting the mattress and we have been without one for over a month now and have had to resort to buying one from elsewhere (online). Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions we are trying to keep our visits to shops etc to the minimum and therefore I do not really want to return to the shop where we bought the mattress to discuss this. I would expect customer services to be able to deal with this. I had asked for a alternative. mattress protector to be sent but this was apparently not something customer services could deal with. Our first delivery arrived with both of their own brand beds badly damaged (see photos)Tried to contact their call centre numerous times, in the end gave up and called the store. The asst mgmr Chris told me it was “not his problem”. I drove over and thankfully met Ricky the manager, who in contrast was very helpful and spent ages on the phone himself trying to reorganise replacements. One of the beds was replaced within a few weeks, but today they arrived with the other replacement bed, which was also damaged! The drawers were warped, so thankfully they were able to swop them over with the bed we had already.
