The food in here is lovely, much better than some Wetherspoons I have visited, where the food has been cold and looks like it was thrown onto the plate! The pizzas in particular were a very pleasant surprise and good value. However, it is badly let down by being messy, even during quiet times. You always have to clean your own table and plates are left out for literally hours. Also the toilets are terrible. I came in for dinner on Monday and had to tell the staff that three of the sanitary bins in the ladies were literally overflowing, on Weds lunchtime I came in for a coffee and the same bins had items hanging out of them. Plus the area around the sinks is always splashed and dripping onto the floor. Most of the staff are very friendly, smiley and chatty but there is one particular staff member I have heard quite a few friends complain about. And i have witnessed him/her being rude and making customers uncomfortable. This staff member is transgender and expects people to just know this. An elderly man referred to her as "this lady (is serving me)" when approached by another staff member at the bar and he/she snapped "This GENT, don't assume I'm female because I have breasts!" and the poor old boy seemed so flustered and confused he fumbled his change. He was probably about seventy and meant no harm. It was uncomfortable to witness. These comments aside me and my husband are regular customers and enjoy the good value and pleasant atmosphere this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to like this Spoons, don't get me wrong the food is good, but some of the staff are really unfriendly and I thought it's always the customer comes first but not here, if you're looking to bring an extension lead your out of luck as these don't allow it but all the other Spoons I've been to, they allow it! And you can't bring your own drink, even though I had a refill coffee from here, they wouldn't let me finish my Coca-Cola bottle that I bought from a shop outside the Pub! I am a regular and come here twice a week, spend a-lot of money here, but I am thinking of looking for another Pub elsewhere. And they don't serve BBQ sauce, and I love Barbeque sauce, where as every Wetherspoons Pub does! Would not recommend this Pub i would consider finding another Spoons nearby.
Edit: I was sitting here today enjoying my coffee roughly about 2 weeks after the extension incident minding my own business after a long and Stressful day until the manager came up to me and said I was banned! And worse it was only for saying I would never come back here, but the thing is I went in on Monday and they didnāt say anything. so they just kicked me out and Iām never allowed back in there, this is an absolute joke! (I also have Autism and ADHD and I told them this but they donāt seem to give a Damn! Itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSadly this pub lets itself down purely and simply by too many chiefs and not enough Indians, suicide behind the bar at times, yet mountains of staff in and around the vicinity. Saturday afternoon and early evening particularly bad, the need to concentrate on serving the queues of people doesnāt seem to be a priority. Regularly an issue. Replenishing glasses does. Damn shame in a nice pub, let down by sloppy service and too many āshift mgrsā and āteam leadersā etc.
Itās Saturday evening again, the queues are building, 6 members of staff in and around the bar and only one serving! This pub seriously needs some bar tenders that serve waiting customers. Itās getting beyond a joke now on Saturday š„“
DOWNGRADED AGAIN!! GET SOME BAR STAFF EMPLOYED IN THIS PUB!! Worst Wetherspoons for service Iāve ever seen. Absolute joke. Picture taken Monday lunchtime.
You should be ashamed of yourselves at Wetherspoons, this pub is a total disgrace service wise, just getting worse and worse, mountains of staff again and just cannot get served for coffee, half term and Iāve just walked out again 09.40am . Absolute...
