Me and my partner purchased about £70s worth of stuff here yesterday. On paying, their till froze (after showing payment approved on the card reader). The store manager then told us we'd have to pay again so I checked my banking app and the payment was showing as pending (because it's a weekend). I showed the manager my banking app and explained that it's clearly gone through and the issue was their till not showing the payment. The manager refused this was the case and insisted we'd need to pay again then return if it went out twice.
I went onto explain that as far as we were concerned the payment had been approved and we'd be leaving with the items. Out of courtesy I offered to leave my details just in case (knowing full well the payment had gone through). The manager then became abrasive and moved all the items so I could not take them.
In the end we resorted to phoning the bank for confirmation that the payment was successful, which they confirmed to the store manager. It was only then (after about 20 mins of waiting) that the manager checked the till again and it was then showing as cleared. She looked crestfallen.
At this point I was expecting an apology, but no. The manager wrote us a receipt (because the till was still not working properly), and gave us the items. I waited for about 20 seconds for the apology, but the manager just stood there without even saying goodbye. I even asked "is there an apology?" and she just ignored the question.
We all get things wrong, but when presented with overwhelming evidence that you're wrong please just rectify the mistake and apologise. It's not difficult.
My partner complained via the main Homesense website and got a very generic response back.
Such poor customer service from both the store and the main office. We won't...
Read moreHomeSense have LOST my custom following an extremely unpleasant interaction with Kirsty, a rather rude and patronising manager in their Taunton store!
Over the last three years, travelling up and down the M4/5, I've taken to stopping at every HomeSense - from Taunton to Taplow - rather than patronise overpriced service stations. One of the benefits of doing so was being allowed to take my small dog with me into store and shop for longer without having to worry about leaving her in the car (especially in this hot weather when she does need to travel with me).
Having visited Taunton numerous times with my dog, and spending £1000s in their stores, I was shocked to have made it to the back of the first floor before being accosted by Kirsty who stated dogs were not allowed! When I explained I'd been in with my dog, only a week prior, I was made to feel like a liar. Kirsty then insisted I either carry my dog around, or push her in a trolley... neither making any sense to me.
Feeling extremely embarrassed by the situation I put down the items I was wishing to purchase and took myself and my dog out of the store -...

There is a great range of kitchenware and unusual eye catching furniture upstairs. The kitchen items are always good quality and I like the stock this shop carries. You could buy a gift or treat yourself here.
If you buy the furniture from here it's quite satisfying in that it makes you feel you are buying something a little different, or more...
