George's Fish Bar — Local services in Great Britain

I waited 20 minutes to get two portions of fish and a large chips. Once I realised why no food was coming out to the freezing cold customers waiting outside for their food, all became clear! Their is food going out, loads of it, its just being prepared ready for the uber eats and deliveroo customers! Unfortunately the customers that are standing outside obviously come second place to these online customers. I eventually went back in and said I've been waiting 20 minutes in the freezing cold and the said "oh we will put a free small bottle of coke in your order" - I don't drink coke and would rather have been prioritised like a valued customer like I used to be before you went into business with uber and deliveroo! Wont be coming again - I will take my business to an establishment that still values its core customers. By the way the chips weren't great - more than half...

Fish was fab, chips were great, mushy peas were a little on the watery side though. The fish shop has really moved on from when I went in there as a kid, ultra clean and modern counters and overall good quality,

six portions of fish 5 regular and 1 large, a pie, two large chips and 3 regular chips was just under £50 so not bad on value.

The access ramp for disabled could do with a face lift to match the storm. I wouldn't want to go up it in a wheel chair..

couple of parking spaces out front but limited if you can't park there then there is always the side roads or the blue bowl opposite

Overall would say it's very nice was all fresh and tasted good. Have been to a few local that I would say are better but it's not going to stop me recommending. Apparently in the top 50 in the country, how that's worked out I have no idea but can only...

Just deleted my previous 5 star review from 4 years ago.

Since being bought out I've had 2 orders here and at this point I would describe the food as "not bad but average". Unfortunately my opinion has dropped from outstanding to average.

Me and my wife are now at the point where we'll no longer exclusively use this chip shop and will try other places next time - I suspect right now atleast Oldfield's will be better.

Today I had chips / burger and onion rings with gravy. Everything was "ok" except the onion rings which had barely any onion and a bunch of oil, I've attached a photo which shows the quantity of oil including the visible oil draining in the container.

I'm sure we'll check back and see how things are in a couple months but not particularly keen...
