Cinema, in the past one could say that it was cinema, but nowadays it is difficult to call it cinema. It is understandable that this is probably a small family business, but the standard compared to other cinemas is invisible, it is not there at all. First of all, you need to find a parking space if you come by car, which is not easy. After entering the cinema, there is no information whether tickets are checked at the kiosk where snacks are available, when you try to order a snack, the first question is whether you have a ticket? Maybe it's my mistake, but you could ask about the ticket first and not wait for the order and then interrupt your sentence and ask if you want to watch the movie at all and if you have a ticket. The food also has little in common with any standard of food in any other cinema, the popcorn can be salty or sweet and you will still get a mix of flavors, the popcorn itself is soft and rubbery, generally it tastes like microwave popcorn that was made the previous day. The cinema hall is beautiful, a piece of history, but the water dripping on your head through the leaky roof does not help during the screening, the smell of the old room, but there is no great tragedy considering that it is a very old cinema. The quintessence begins when you want to go to the toilet, the stench of urine and the smell like in a city toilet where no one has cleaned for several days, extremely disgusting, considering the astronomical prices for tickets and snacks, I understand that you can have an old business and old equipment, but chemicals cleaning would definitely improve the feeling and comfort. Generally speaking, I know cinemas where for half the price you can eat fresh popcorn, sit in comfortable armchairs, in a clean room and use a clean toilet, without paying too much and enjoy friendly service. I appreciate old, small family businesses, but I certainly won't go back there again, I won't recommend this cinema to anyone, and I certainly won't be surprised if someday competition with a higher standard and lower prices will arise and force another small business to close down. Lower the entry and food prices, invest in fresh popcorn, repair the roof...
Read morePreviously all films I've watched there have been screen 2. No complaints for that one - lovely large screen, good sound and a cosy atmosphere with tiered seating so all seats good view of screen. Screen 1 however - MUCH to be desired. The screen is just too small for the size of auditorium - it's like watching 45" tv in your living room - you're not immersed in the film - rather you're peering at it from afar and aware of walls ceiling around at all times. The seating isn't tiered and angled back like a planetarium seat so far from offering good view of screen, was constantly aware of the ceiling and people's heads/row of seats. I don't know why not tiered when refurbed as they have the space to do it. For those with bad backs - the angle was excruciating and had to use coats to bolster for better comfort. The acoustics in Screen 1 are dreadful too. Watched Downton Abbey - all I could hear in the quiet dialogue bits was the bass rumbling of sound action from the film being shown in Screen 2 which was behind the back wall so result was 'rumbling thunderstorm' heard over the action and dialogue of downstairs in kitchens. To be honest if I were them I'd switch the number of the screen around as screen 2 definitely superior to screen 1. Until better sound insulation put on wall that divides Screen 2 from Screen 1 (presuming that was the balcony section in older days) to counteract the bass noise from screen 2 films and seats are tiered so you're staring at the screen rather than up at the screen, I'd rather wait til film reaches Screen 2 or drive the extra hour to...
