This is a review of community consideration rather than a review of the Penzance distillery/bar.
It really is a shame that they insist on emptying their bottles into the outside bin at such inconsiderate times of the day. I’m a close neighbour to this establishment, have spoken kindly with the owners brother, and asked if it could be done at a more reasonable time of day, ie not 7am or 1am. Unfortunately my request wasn’t heard and this persists. It really is very selfish to continue to do this when there are a lot of residential properties around it. I now feel disheartened about the apparent kind nature of the man I spoke with and question whether this establishment is purely for self gain, rather than bringing something positive to the community.
In response to the Pocketful Of Stones reply to my review… This isn’t the first time I have raised this issue with you. As I have mentioned in my above review I have spoken with you, in person, and kindly asked if you could be more considerate of the distillery/bars neighbours. The noise is definitely coming from your business and it is definitely not always after 8am. This morning it was 7:10am and I have also heard it in the night around 1am. I am surprised at your dishonesty (as I was when I spoke with you in person and it was denied that you had any responsibility with this issue). I am also surprised at the need to cover up such an issue that could be easily avoided with a bit of consideration. This indicates a lack of integrity and a definite lack of care for the community immediately surrounding your business.
If there is a need to remove the bottle bin from the bar in order to clean in preparation for opening, then I kindly suggest that another one is purchased and they are used in rotation; which will avoid the need for it to be emptied urgently.

Superb! Best gin tasting in Cornwall, UK. We bought an entire case! Loved every single gin tasted. Yiu must book ahead and I strongly recommend taking a taxi. The team took great care of us. We were greeted with a full sized gin and tonic to enjoy during a tour of the manufacturing process. All done by hand! One of their gins uses homemade marmalade from a local lady farmer. We relaxed on plush furnishings and chatted with our lovely hosts who told us how their gin business started and how their bittle artwork was achieved etc. It was so relaxing and we felt so welcomed....
Read moreWhat a very informative and enjoyable Taste Experience, well worth the fee. Very interesting introduction into the gin making process explained in layman terms. Thanks Ruben. Friendly atmosphere and explanation of the different gins and whiskies, during the tasting experience, thanks to Courtney. Looking forward to enjoying my purchases of Dr Squid and Caspyn, with the beer runner taking pride of place in Our Retreat. Don't take my word for it, if you're visiting Cornwall, make sure you set aside a couple of hours to visit Pocketful of Stones. Thanks from...
