The Range Taunton has some good items, however my main problem is with the out of date food items that are on their shelves.
I went on the 19th of January and wanted something sweet. I went to the confectionary aisle and saw some Dairy Milk Caramilk in the clearance section. I thought it would be dated for that day so went to look at the date, and it was dated the 9th of December 2024. This still being on display was a problem, as it was over a month out of display date and even though it is chocolate this is still unacceptable.
I went to look at the non reduced Caramilk and hoped that this would be in date. However the majority of it was dated the 18th of January, with one even being dated to the 9th of December as well. I decided to leave as I didnāt want to risk my health.
I went back yesterday (21st January) and wanted to show my friend, hoping the items had been taken off the shelf. However, they were still there and the 9th of December dates one was hidden behind the 18th of January dated ones. I told an employee who said that they must have been moved back.. but they were a whole box full, which means a customer would not have done this. I decided to check more items and found some āTea on a stickā items dated November 2024 (Use by date too). This was completely appalling, so I left and will not be coming back.
Please donāt risk your health, first they have a lawsuit against them as rats ate into their items, and then this. The Range needs to train their staff in stock rotation as even though their food items arenāt the main priority of the store, they are still a big...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe range had a lot to offer from DIY and decor to household products and snacks.
There are 1 small downside and a larger downside I find with the range.
First I love gardening but find their gardening section slightly lacking in terms of plants on offer.
Second larger downside is the tills and their layout. No fault of the workers and think they do a great job but find it's awkwardly laid out and tills high for the staff members and customers. All tightly packed so if you have a large shop then be prepared.
Otherwise they have a great home decor section with lots from faux flowers, mirrors to trinkets to make a house a home.
They have a great little DIY section which I believe covers most bases of what you would need to help you touch up your house.
There is a great section for household cleaning which my wife loves.
If you have pets then they have a good variety of animal products for fish, dogs, cats and reptiles.
If you are into your arts and crafts then they have a good range to get into a hobby or to top up a ever expanding collection of craft materials.
We love going with my daughter to the arts and crafts section to see what new experience we can do together.
Overall it's great to look around and have a bit of everything. The only major let down in my eyes is the tills.
Staff are always...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally when I visit The Range (Bridgend, Swansea, Rugby) I come away feeling 1. I've got a bargain and 2. I've had wonderful customer service. But didn't get that feeling in The Range Taunton.... went in to buy an item for our tent.... they only had one left in stock, but the box was totally battered... not just a little... A LOT!! It had been battered from all sides. So I asked to see the product out of the box.... there were clearly scratches to the product so my husband asked for some money off.... no-one is going to buy something that has damage on it for full price..... ?? The young lad (retail assistant) said no because there was no damage, when clearly there was.... so we said we'd leave!! Then as we paid for the other items he moaned and moaned about not being able to get the item back in the battered box!!! Glad I went into Currys PC World got excellent customer service and got...
