Beware: if you are vegetarian or have any allergies avoid this beefeater for breakfast. Sadly the experience I had yesterday was one of the worst experiences I’ve had my whole life which brought me to tears at the table. Firstly the plates by the cooked section were so hot that neither me nor my partner could touch them. The chef angrily shouted over from the kitchen “THE PLATES ARE RIGHT THERE” causing me to panic and pick one up using my hoodie sleeve to avoid burning my hand. There were no veggie meats out (even tho they are on the menu) and only a small handful of veggie items available (like some mushrooms and hash browns). The continental side of things was supposed to have a huge range of items but there were only some croissants and pan au chocolat there! That’s it! After going back and fore a few times & waiting 20 mins thinking maybe they would top up the cooked food, I very politely asked a waitress if there are any veggie sausages available. She asked if I had specially requested them which I said I didn’t think you had to? So she said she would tell the chef and it would be a 10-15 minute wait. We waited a while and still nothing so I went up to see if any veggie sausages had been put out instead. While there I very politely asked the chef (as I’m nervous talking to people) if there were any veggie sausages available and he screamed NO angrily in my face. And then started shouting at me and lecturing me that he had other things to worry about other than veggie sausages and he just spoke to me terribly. I was in shock and walked away crying. At the end of the day this is supposed to be an “unlimited breakfast” and it boasts the amount of veggie options available online. I didn’t expect to pay £10 per person for a couple of mushrooms on a plate. We were looking forward to a nice breakfast while on holiday and instead I had abuse thrown at me for politely asking the chef a question :( shortly after I was then given 2 uncooked sausages, ice cold in the middle and mushy. At this point I was so anxious and upset, I refused to go up and say anything in fear I would be shouted at again but I couldn’t eat them so uncooked as that’s a huge food poisoning risk! my partner was in shock at everything that had just happened so he flagged down the kind male waiter who was very apologetic. 10 mins later and the chef comes out of the kitchen with 2 sausages shouting at the waiter “these are piping hot now!! PIPING HOT!!”. I was made to feel absolutely terrible and the waiter saw me crying at my table and very kindly offered my breakfast for free. I’m sharing my feedback as I would hate for anyone else to have gone through the such awful treatment that I experienced yesterday. I definitely will not be returning and still get upset thinking about...
Read moreAfter turning up a little early for our table, we expected to wait but we were left standing around for at least 20mins, by at which time was well beyond our reservation slot. Got seated, and as you do we started to have a look at the Mother’s Day set menu, another 25 mins passed before somebody came along to take an order for our drinks, it was busy given the occasion, we all had our eyes set on the Sunday roast…….then to be informed there were none left! Ok fine, wished we had been told that before hand? So we settled for the steak and salmon! We went for the 2 course set menu, so we opted for a main and a dessert whereas my son wanted a starter. Another 35mins passed, no starter? So I asked the young waiter where it was? He said he would check. Then another 10 mins and he returned to say what was it again he ordered? Frustrated, I replied garlic cheesy mushrooms on garlic bread! Finally after 15 more mins, the starter arrives. Other guests arrive around us and place orders, to which there food arrives within 20 mins………normally I’m quite a understanding person, but I then proceeded to find our waiter to ask where the main course was, given that we have now waited well over an hour, only to be told he will find out, no apology given, nor did he make it a priority to find out! He then went and took another persons order, and eventually came back over to tell us it will be another 10 more minutes, again no apology. Didn’t help when I clearly saw him laughing with his colleagues by the cashiers machine!!!! The food did however get put on the side for service 5 minutes later, but only got brought over because I made a different waiter aware it was ready. The manageress brought the meals over and she could clearly she I want not happy to the point where I was going to offer to pay for our drinks and leave! I explained why I was frustrated, and in fairness she apologised and offered to take some money off the bill. It seemed to be a common theme there this evening as we were not the only people that experienced a bad time after listening to other people sitting around us. All I wanted was to enjoy a family meal out for Mother’s Day with my kids and my mother, which somehow took, overall nearly 3 hours! I would have rated 1 star, however I gave it 2 given the genuinely apologetic manageress!! Hugely now regretted cancelling my initial reservation to take the family to the hungry horse in Yeovil, but the kids wanted a roast, especially given it was a Sunday. We won’t...
Read moreTotally felt let down from start to finish! Came to dine with my husband we hadn't booked a table so greatful to get a table (few were empty) young lady twice looking nervous as we stood and waited to be seen to a table (tip just come and tell people that the head of house want be to long would help) once seated young man took our dtmrink order! Thrse drinks we waited for over 30 mins! Head House I'm calling this lady had said while passing our table "you not got your drinks oh your the unlucky ones machine gone down! We finally got these. After a long wait we got our food, the corn strips misding off the plate (again could of said they had ran out) I took a bit out off my hotdog and it was luke warm, I tried the cheesy chips again luke warm then beans that were stone cold!! At this point trying to get the attention of the young waitress that spent alot of her time playing with the till trying to look busy ( also here a tip the over powering perfume could be toned down as that's all you could smell over the food) finally after the next table foid was being delivered by a 2nd waitress (whom I will say worked her backside off with drinks and food delivery) I asked her to take my food as it was cold she said sorry would I like a replacement I diclined the offer, (my husband was eating his and being a man that hadn't eaten yet that day was just eating it!) the young lady came pass asked if I wanted a drink (still a glass full) the head house walked pass over her shoulder said, your sure you don't want anything I again declined! Once my hubby finished young lad cleared the plate asked if we wanted pudding with saying its free! I declined yet again! We finished our drinks we waited 15/20 mins to get the attention of the girl whom still just stood playing with the till for the bill, finally she was walking pass I asked please could we have the bill, resoince yeah sure! And here again we waited a long time and asked she passed us again I had said "can we have that bill please!! Then sat waited again after 20 mins young lad came over and" its free you can go now!! So with the fact I work in the industry! Head chef! I feel that training is needed for all waitresses and head of house! I felt the kitchen needed a bell to let them know foid ready, we all know heat lamps don't keep food hot for long. I felt head of house should of came spoken to us and infect delt with this situation. With this I will never probebly come...
