What a gorgeous bar and fabulous atmosphere! Sadly, the bouncer took a very keen dislike to one of our party. I am acutely aware of bouncer regulations and I know all about when to remove people and when to give warnings. I’m completely disappointed in one of the bouncers who decided my friend was “too drunk” and said they would kick him out “after he finished his last drink.” As we all know, if you feel a client is causing immediate harm to themselves or others, you would remove them ASAP. It seems the bouncer took a dislike to him and more of the group, accusing others of “bumping into other guests.” When other guests were queried on said “bumping into them” they had no idea what the bouncer was referring to. I understand being a bouncer isn’t the easiest job, nor is the clientele. However, had a removable offence been committed, it would be expected the culprit be removed with immediate effect. This didn’t happen and it seemed the bouncer was acting on a whim rather than professional conduct. I would expect a lot better from what seems to be a wonderful and welcoming...

Lovely dog friendly pub. We went quite late on for an evening meal to celebrate our daughter finishing her A Levels. Nice and quiet, with just background music so we could chat to each other without shouting. Food was lovely, fish was huge and very tasty! Scouse with beetroot was lovely. I also recommend the Rioja, I could have drank the whole bottle if it wasn't a school night! Be aware, not sure whether this is just mid week, but kitchen closed at 9pm. We had a really pleasant dinner. We enjoyed the special offer of two main courses and an exquisite bottle of wine for 30 pounds. Portions were huge and food was really good. The service was welcoming, kind and helpful, offering good and appreciated recommendations. The ambience was cool, you could see all people happy spreading good vibes. Of course my good company was amazing too and contributed to make the experience enjoyable. Would definitely go again ... and again...
