Booked an appointment for a contraception consultation. Had to tell 3 different members of staff that I was there for a contraception appointment. They asked me twice whether I was ‘sure’ I had an appointment there (I was sure).
The consultation wasn’t done in a private room just by the till despite there being a private room that was unoccupied.
It was clear the male pharmacist who spoke to me had a very limited knowledge of the different contraception methods as, instead of guiding me through my different options and the pros and cons like he should have, he told me that I should see my GP for this kind of thing. The extent of his knowledge was telling me what his patients typically go for and that it was ‘good’.
On your website the appointment should have gone as follows: Our pharmacy team will ask you some initial questions and afterwards, you’ll have a consultation with the pharmacist in a private consultation room. They will ask you relevant health-related questions to work out the best way to help you, and you may have your blood pressure checked and your BMI measured by a member of the team. Our pharmacists will offer advice and, where appropriate, make a supply of oral contraception.
Would not recommend this pharmacist for their contraceptive consultation. And it is disappointing that in 2025 a male pharmacist does not have the correct knowledge to advise on...
Read moreDear Boots, if I could give -5 as your rating, I would. Sadly, I can’t. My family member experienced an interesting ‘nothing to do with us’ this morning regards their appointment for pneumonia jab. It is astonishing how unknowable, unprofessional and dismissive your staff are. They were sent to numerous locations and each time they were told - not here, even though the appointment was at your location. In addition, you charged them a full £70.00 without any remorse, or desire for apology. But, this is not the first time you failed your customers. The same person attended few weeks ago to seek advice regarding a severe hand cut and bleed that wouldn’t stop. You were told that the person was on a blood thinners and it was Saturday evening. You said that it would eventually stop. For a pharmacist to say that was absolutely shocking since we discovered later, that the NHS guidelines are to attend an A & E regardless of the size of the cut. PS - my cut bled for 12 hours! So, not only your rude, ignorant, uninformed, you’re positively dangerous to our health. Feel free to contact me, should you need more information. A full refund of the vaccine, would be the minimum you could do, if you had any sense of right...
