My mum recommended this restaurant to me as she has been to their other restaurant in Canterbury. This is our first time visiting The Veg Box Cafe in Baker Street. My expectations were far exceeded, as the food was proper yummy, the staff were lovely, and the decor and settings are done to a high standard. As my mum said and I agree, "that was superb, amazing". We sat upstairs in the window with fun views of the cars buses and people going past Baker street. Everything is so clean and new the toilets were spotless and done out very nicely. Oh and to top it off the prices are very reasonable. If you're into Vege Vegan food like my mum and I you'll definitely love this place and will have it on your list to frequent and recommend to others.

The food was fresh, wholesome and flavoursome. We had a Sri Lankan curry (not hot or spicy) with broccoli and carrots and perfectly cooked rice 5/5, which came with a really yum side of salad, olives, grated carrot, kimchi and salad leaves. With the dressing and fermented kimchi juices it created a symphony for the palate. We also got a veg fritter that was soft sponge and melt in the mouth with roasted vegetables inside. Lastly we got the lasagna which was just what you need after a Saturday morning football match, amazing to me too that there was no cheese on it. Smoothie was 5/5 too There was so much more on the menu that I look forward to trying in the future. They also do freshly fermented kombucha which looks like it must be good judging on how everything else has been. Soups on the list to try next time too. I don't normally do reviews but felt compelled as it's been that good 😊. I'm writing this review whilst in the restaurant and we just ordered a pot of fresh mint tea and millionaires shortbread and coffee and walnut cake. Wow wow wow. The ingredients are healthy, simplistic and not over saturated with nasty additives. I was told that the deserts are all made in-house fresh. There are options available without sugar, which for me is amazing, sweetened with dates and maple syrup etc.

It's been a wonderful spring afternoon and we will be...

The Veg Box: A Haven of Health and Hospitality

From the moment you step into The Veg Box, you are not just entering a restaurant; you are walking into a community dedicated to health, sustainability, and exceptional service. Located conveniently in the heart of the city, The Veg Box proves that going vegan doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor, variety, or the joy of eating out.

A Cornucopia of Healthy Options As a self-proclaimed foodie, I can attest that the menu at The Veg Box is nothing short of a vegan paradise. They offer a wide array of plant-based options that are so full of flavor, even my meat-loving friends have been converted. The menu boasts an impressive selection of appetizers, mains, and desserts, all crafted from locally sourced and organic ingredients. Their grain bowls are a symphony of texture and taste, You can also find mouth-watering dishes like scrambled tofu breakfast options and ginger turmeric - ginger lattes that showcase the culinary creativity of the kitchen. For dessert, the vegan coffee chocolate cake is a must-try.

Friendly Staff Who Truly Care As someone who knows all the vegan restaurants around the world, I can confidently say that their staff members are among the best in the business. Their attentiveness goes beyond just taking your order and serving your food. They are passionate about the menu, knowledgeable about the ingredients, and ever so willing to help you make a choice tailored to your taste and dietary needs. It's clear that they're not just employees, but ambassadors of the vegan lifestyle, sharing their enthusiasm in a way that adds to the overall experience. In a world where dining options are endless, The Veg Box stands out not just for its incredible food, but for its commitment to promoting a healthier lifestyle while ensuring you have a delightful dining experience. Whether you're a vegan veteran or someone curious about plant-based eating, The Veg Box is more than a restaurant—it's a destination worthy of everyone's...

Main point: Excellent food. We were across the road about to make a sushi restaurant booking for lunch but saw this place and it called out to us. We came here instead. Looked empty but we were greeted when we entered and showed the menu. Beautiful interiors. A main we wanted was not prepared today so sadly we ordered another main. The food we had, Buddha Bowl and Fritter Main looked similar apart from the single fritter as a dollop of hummus between the two. Very curious as we expected more fritters as a main instead of one. Presentation wise, very colourful and vibrant. Excellent variety and we enjoyed the different dishes on one plate. We loved the flavours. Husband is obsessed with the kombucha and said it tastes like yoghurt. Overall food was excellent. We were offered 20% for the first month of opening, but we were charged full price by mistake. They gave the proper refund after I realised and enquiredl. Staff were very new to the system, had some bouts of confusion here and there, and had a lot of fine tuning to do, still being shown how to do things behind the counter by the manager (first weekend since opening), it’s interesting to observe as a customer but it’s a new place and it will be better with time. Staff are, above everything, enthusiastic and friendly. Thanks for the lovely plant-based meal...
