Buckingham Palace Shop — Local services in London

My Mom is British but has been living in Canada for 60+ years. She was very excited to watch the Jubilee celebrations and said how much she wished for a tea towel as a momentum. I decided to purchase 2 tea towels and a book for Mom's 83rd bday in October and I paid extra shipping cost to get them on time. The shipping and then the duty was over $100.00 Canadian but Mom's worth it. The tea towels were about $14.00 each so I expected them to be of nice /average quality, after all, they are from the official Buckingham Palace shop. When my package arrived (very quickly) I was excited to open it and when I did my jaw dropped. The tea towels were of such poor quality. They were paper thin and were made of some sort of poly fabric that has no absorbance at all. If I found these in a thrift shop, I would pass them by as the quality is garbage. I am so disappointed for my Mom. Even as simply decorative towels they look and feel very cheap. I'm embarrassed to give...

This shop has a large collection of gift items of Buckingham Palace. They range from stuffed toys to very valuable dining ware.

The staff are very friendly. They are also very knowledgeable about the different items in the shop.

It was the first time I had ever seen a loving cup, a big mug with two handles, one on each side. The shop assistants did not just explain what kind of cup that was, but also explained to me the meaning or origin behind the different drawings on the cups, and when they were or would be used.

On the whole, the gift items are very attractive and they have been displayed very nicely...

Ordered numerous times previously and all good but this time experience is concerning. Delivery times state will arrive within 7 days. It’s been 12 days and items not even been dispatched, it does also say allow 7 days to arrive from dispatch. Earliest would be now is 20 days for delivery !! This was for a gift spending £60, which I ordered in plenty of time. I did email and was told busy due to platinum jubilee orders and would be a “few” days late. Not 2/3 weeks. Thankfully I’ve paid via PayPal so will make a claim through them. I would imagine the Royal Family would be disgusted at the treatment...
