Iāve been a loyal customer at this store for over 1.5 years, primarily purchasing ready porridge until they discontinued them about 6 months ago. Since then, Iāve been only picking up spoons when I visit. However, each time I walk in, Iām met with dirty looks from the staff, as if Iām committing a crime by simply picking up a spoon. When I confronted them about it, they rudely informed me that Iām being scrutinized because Iām not making a purchase every time. I offered to pay for the spoon to alleviate their concerns, but the pressure and judgment persisted.
To make matters worse, after enduring this treatment for weeks, I was informed today by a manager that Iām banned from the store for the sole reason of picking up a spoon. Itās incredulous that they would waste an hour of my time over such a trivial matter.
Additionally, learning that one of the staff members involved in the argument is supposedly dealing with depression and taking time off feels like an excuse for unprofessional behavior. Itās disheartening to see such lack of professionalism and customer care from the management and staff of this store.
Overall, my experience with this store has been disappointing and I cannot recommend it to others due to their unprofessionalism and lack of respect for...

Love the sour cream n chives, salsa and hummus. Good variety of different hummus too. I also was tempted by the salami and saucisson, but ended up buying it at another M&S store.
I'm a fan of the small super seeded loaves too, which aren't in all stores, but are in this one.
It's fairly well spaced out in the aisles. Not my favourite M&S, but it is a great option.
Not lots of bbe deals, but it might be the times I've visited. I did score some yorkshire puddings which were reduced. That was a bit of a highlight.
If summer ever gets here, the cones look delish. š
I'm a fan of M&S doing multipacks - chocolate chip cookies and cheese tasters, though I'm being good and trying to limit processed food atm. The chocolate mini wafers are brilliant. I've had them before, but will eat the whole pack, so I don't buy them ever. :p
It's a handy store close to old st and next door to Aldi. I've been doing some main shops at Aldi and topping up here, as I've been in the area for some free boxing classes.
BTW the chocolate sports balls which I bought for some kids were a huggggeeeeee hit. Perfect since we have the football and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe best local M&S food shop I have ever visited is in a parade of shops near the old street roundabout which includes Argos, Gym Box and the Co-op and the future delights of an Aldi to be built this year, as always with Marks and Spencer it is immaculate and inviting the minute you walk in, this particular shop had a crowded entrance due to trying to fit a quart into a pint pot, but once navigated through the clutter you have a heaven of goodies to savour and spend more on than you budgeted for, a well laid out Shop for it's size and very well stocked considering it's space limitations, there is no shortage of delights to tempt you, fresh meat and fish are a plenty as are a good selection of ready meals for those wanting a quick meal, the wine selection is impressive for a shop this size and includes chilled wines and bubbly for those who want a chilled drink with their meal, the dry goods section is well provided for, near the self service checkout is a very good section selling fresh bread and cakes, a plus point if you are grabbing a lunch at work or dropping in to grab some indulgences to enjoy early evening, I always treat my visit to an M&S Food Hall or Shop as a treat and this one is one of the...
