Do not visit this store as they do not let you buy anything I travelled to the Covent Garden branch today to buy two items. Both were in stock but they would not let me pay for them. There was a long queue. The tills “were down”. No effort made to communicate this to customers. I offered to pay in cash so I could buy my items and take them home. This was rejected instantly. It was awful. After a long wait I left without the goods I came especially to purchase So disappointed as I came into London for this sole purpose. It is so frustrating and appalling customer service as I need to come into London again to purchase these items Some staff training needed here on how to communicate with customers when things go wrong. A smile or kind words would go such a long way in these circumstances. Sadly neither were forthcoming

My wife and I purchased some items at Muji Covent Garden, UK on 31st Oct 2021. I had tried on a sample of crew neck shirt and asked three different workers there if the “4550344447970 Side Seamless Crew Neck 2-Pack T-Shirt” product had the same fitting and material. All three of them said yes, and I could not open the package to try it on, so I bought it. But when I got back home (now I am in other country) and tried the product on, it is different from the shirt I tried on in-store. The shirt that those 3 staff said was the same had a different fitting. Pictures attached... I am so disappointed. Now I cannot return to the store to return it or even to complain…. Complained and no response. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I love muji’s products and have been a loyal customer, my recent experience in store was nice, but I am concerned about how muji is charging the customers. I purchased the sauce dish which has a label of £3.95, whereas I was charged £4.25. In the store it was also saying you get 20% off when you purchase 2 pp storage boxes, which was also not reflected from my receipt. I was in a rush so didn’t check the receipt properly at the store, and it’s also not worth my time to get the tiny bit of discount/mis-charge back by going back to the store. I will not be visiting muji stores again.

Incredibly rude manager today. I went in to buy a plain black t shirt for my daughter to wear in a concert tomorrow, having failed to find one anywhere else locally. I found a pack of men's xs t shirts but there were no dimensions on the packet so took one out to see if it looked about the right size. There was an open t shirt on the display but it was for a different size so I couldn't use this to decide. The one I had opened looked fine so I took it over to the till to buy. The assistant then told me when paying I wouldn't be able to return it as it was opened. I did not think this sounded right or would stand legally. She cited hygiene reasons but I hadn't worn the shirt merely opened the packet in the store and how would anyone know if it was suitable without removing it from the packet? She agreed that I could swap it for an unopened pack and this would protect my statutory rights. I bought an opened pack but unfortunately realised about half an hour later I had picked up a v neck pack rather than a round neck. The packs are the same price and appearance and were placed together on the shelf. I returned to make a straight swap of the unopened pack and this time spoke to the manager who aggressively told me I had already been told by the previous assistant I couldn't make a swap. I challenged this as it was untrue. I suggested she call the previous assistant but she continued to treat me with contempt and as if I was lying or somehow trying to do something dishonest. I merely was trying to buy a t shirt from a store and exchange one unopened packet for another. I had a receipt which says clearly you can return your purchase within 30 days in a saleable condition if not happy with it. She had no legal right to refuse to swap one unopened packet for another and I suspect no right to say I couldn't swap an opened saleable unused t shirt either. She finally let me swap but said irritably ' -once only' . I have sympathy with shop staff working over the Christmas period but this woman's behaviour was unacceptable for working in customer service. I am very upset at how rudely I was treated today as a customer and won't buy...

I always find myself returning to MUJI Covent Garden, and for good reason. The moment you step inside, you are welcomed by a serene atmosphere. The store is clean, minimalistic, and infused with the soothing scent of their signature diffusers. It is like the world slows down there, and shopping becomes less of a chore and more of a calming escape. Time seems to slip away as you browse, and with their 10% student discount, it is even harder to resist.

What inspired me to write this review was my visit on Thursday, 16 January 2025. I was downstairs exploring the kitchenware section, where I always seemed to get carried away, and I ended up with my hands full. I had forgotten to grab a basket at the entrance, and as I juggled my items, one slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor. Struggling to pick it up, I was surprised when a staff member, Lo, appeared out of nowhere with a small MUJI basket and handed it to me, saying, “Here’s a basket.”

It might seem like a small gesture, but to me, it was remarkable. That simple, thoughtful act, of paying attention to a customer’s needs without being asked, spoke volumes about the level of service at MUJI Covent Garden. It is rare to find this kind of attentiveness these days, and it left me genuinely impressed.

To Lo and the rest of the amazing team at MUJI Covent Garden, thank you for making shopping convenient and enjoyable. You are doing an incredible job, and I hope you keep up...

I have been there today and wanted to buy a T-shirt. When I paid,, the casher said I need an id card to show. I had a just student ID. Who carries a passport with them in the UK? She said it is not acceptible after asking the manager next to her. I asked the resaon and the cashier answered, "The manager said "no" without a right explination. I have never expirienced that I have to show ID when I pay by a card (verified by signiture) without any acceptible explination. After paying it, I returned to the store to refund as I had an unpleasant feeling and did not want to have it anymore. The manager was still rude and arrogant saying "This is "Muji policy". I understand they have a certain policy but if they have an unusal one, they should explane it in a kind way rather than just saying "No". I used to like Myji before, but I certainly dont want to go back again. A manager is not the one who command customers or to be arrogant against them. The manager in the store should have been trained better. I definitely do not recomment...
