I was lucky enough to go and watch The Human Body twice! Both times it was phenomenal, couldnt have been better. It was a wonderful experience since I'm not into theatre that much! With that said, after the show we could expect to maybe get an opportunity for pictures and signatures. Lots of people did and thats really good! however, to those who got kicked out by security, it wasn't at all fair on them to be told that the bar was being cleared and then seeing multiple leave the building when supposedly, no one was in there. As well as this, the behaviour by some of the managment/security team was appalling to say the least. They were aggressive and very loud, shouting in faces and harassing customers. I understand that their job is to protect the cast members but the way they handled it was so unnessecary and threatening. I, myself, experienced this when I was spoken down to in a condescending manner - even though i had heard what the man said and responded, 'okay', might I add - He came up to me a second time and got right into my face to repeat himself. I just feel like lots of people have spent lots of money to come and see this to be mistreated by the staff. Other than that, it...
Read moreOur visit to the Donmar Warehouse Theatre had been planned while we were in our hometown -Vancouver Canada..we were aware of the The Band’s Visit in book format, saw the movie and were aware of the acclaims offered in many places including the New York Times newspaper and The Guardian Newspapers on 07 October 2022..the story of this musical is based on the 2007 Israeli film..this very engaging musical demonstrates the unkindly engagement of a Egyptian Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra with the residents of a small desert Israeli town in an error with a bus ticketing office..the musical consists of interactions between the two groups, especially the somewhat grumpy Colonel Band Conductor-Tewfit-and the Cafe Owner-Dina-other interactions of humour, despair, tenderness and unexpected pleasure- such as the composer, Simon, who finishes his concerto as he quiets a baby crying..the very engaging music, the interactions, the high quality performances lead to a class act afternoon here at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre…Not...
Read moreWhile their website could use some work (such as something like queue up for buying tickets) the theatre itself and staff are incredible, it is extremely small and i don’t think people realize how small and intimate it is. it uses headphone so you can get a movie feel during the play you’re seeing. and it’s great for hard of hearing people such as myself because i often miss the caption shows as they’re at weird times, which doesn’t work when you’re someone with a 9-5.- though no volume controls on them… i think investing in higher quality headphones could do this theatre good. regardless the play set up was incredible. unlike anything i’ve seen before. it was not glitz and glam with loads of props, but simple and elegant. and despite having no intermission the play was broken up with a comedic bit. 1000% would come again to...
