Petals at Bibendum — Local services in London

After finally connecting the 'P' on an apron to this company, and the previous review confirming my suspicions, I was deeply disheartened by an incident I witnessed on 03/02. It saddened me to discover that the individual who shocked me the most was the owner of Petals. Observing an owner verbally abusing their staff in public to the point of tears led me to lose interest in supporting a business run by a gaslighting, angry individual. Although it was heartening to see the employee receive comfort from others, it does not overshadow the unprofessional behavior of the owner. Initially intending to leave a positive review, as I had bought a bouquet for a family member just last month, my perception is now tainted by what I witnessed. I'm giving 2 stars as on previous occasions the flowers have been good but expensive. 2 months ago, I purchased some French Tulips for £45. They did not even open up before they collapsed in the vase and had to be put out after 4 days. Tried again and purchased £120 of Viburnum and some other non descript white flowers which were apparently £12 per stem even though he could not find the item on the system! They lasted 4 days. I also asked why the flowers were so expensive. He just told me he didn't set the prices. Fair enough. However, I'm beginning to think, Flowers at Bibendum assume their clients are non the wiser and can charge VERY high prices for average flowers. That is not the case. I have been following Petals at Bibendum on Instagram because I truly enjoy seeing their photos of their magnificent floral arrangements. I needed to send an arrangement to a friend in London, even though I live in the US. I messaged with them and they were so efficient in responding to me and we’re happy to assist me with choosing the perfect arrangement and making sure it was delivered when I needed it to be. They were so professional & kind to work with, & my friend was so pleased with her floral arrangement. They were absolutely beautiful and truly cheered her up!
