As today is my birthday, I decided to treat myself to a free birthday tour at Rituals (inside London Bridge Station below the Shard). I wasnât familiar with the company, but I was curious to explore something new. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to another world by the relaxing fragrances and the simple, elegant design of the shop.
After a brief moment of soaking in the ambiance, I was greeted by a lovely woman. I explained that it was my birthday, and she wished me a happy birthday before explaining how to redeem my gift, which involved purchasing one item and receiving the second as a free birthday gift. She gave me a quick tour of the shop, which I appreciated.
As someone who likes to gather information before making a decision, I spent some time in the men's section, exploring the various fragrances, each with its own unique scent and color harmony. While I was browsing, I was greeted by Mike, who had just come from the back. We had a brief chat, and he kindly offered his assistance when he noticed my interest in the products.
Mike was incredibly helpful, walking me through the different products and their uses, especially considering my hands get messy quickly due to my hobby as a climber. He introduced me to a scrub cream and demonstrated its use at the sink, which I initially thought was just for show. The experience was delightful, especially with the water flowing from a golden bamboo faucet. A touch of green or real bamboo would enhance the shopâs vibe even more!
With my hands feeling refreshed, Mike continued to share his personal experiences with the products and encouraged me to try other options. Eventually, I settled on "The Ritual of Ayurveda," a choice that was even endorsed by a fellow shopper.
At the till, I showed Mike my membership card, but it didnât scan, so I had to manually enter my email on a computer. Mike explained that I needed to receive an email from Rituals to redeem my gift, which would be valid for 30 days. Understanding my situation perfectly, he reassured me that I could return once I received the email. His attentiveness and understanding were commendable.

   Read moreWe went to Rituals in the arches at London Bridge Station at around 5.30-6pm on a Sunday. We wanted to buy a specific foaming shower gel that my partnerâs mum likes as a thank you gift. We saw that there was a new scent and wanted to try it. I put the tester on my hands and liked it so I wanted to buy it. I tried to wipe my hands at the tester station (it was a thick white foam on my hands) but the security guard said that I wasnât allowed to wipe my hands. I took a flannel from the tester station anyway because I could hardly walk around with thick white foam on my hands. The staff said that it was store policy to close the tester station before the store, and there was nothing they could do. If you want to sell overpriced toiletries, there is really no point unless people enjoy the experience in the shop. We left without buying anything because it was such a miserable experience. We now have to find a new gift in the next 24h even though we had the perfect gift in our hands. The aggressive behaviour of the security guard ruined it for us, we will never buy there again.
