While not overly offensive in any way, nothing about our meal experience would bring it from an 'okay' to a 'good'. Full review: We ordered two of the feast specials (2 mezes, seabass, lamb kofta, baklava, and tea), and one chicken kofta between the 3 of us. The seabass was nice, well cooked and crisp, but the kofta were disappointing (chicken) to plain bad (lamb). The lamb had a strong aftertaste of nutmeg and was dry and bland despite that. The meze was nice, but did not feel worth the money as it lacked some elements. The baklava was very sweet but okay, the best part of this feast was the rose and mint tea which was lovely and refreshing. The environment is a selling point of this restaurant as it boasts a vibrant setting overflowing with decorations. A lot of this was quite interesting, but not enough to take over the experience of the meal. Additionally, the air conditioning unit above our head sounded like a pneumatic drill throughout the meal. The service was poor. The icy drinks made the table wet through condensation and we had to point this out to the staff before she attempted to clean it, leaving one of the two tables still wet. We never felt welcome, and there never felt anything that would constitute good service or meet the service charge that was added to the bill unasked. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It felt too expensive for the quality of meal, but if you do end up there it won't be the worst meal you have. I would recommend the restaurant reviews the kofta recipe to try and improve that element, and consider ways to add to the meze platter that can bring that element from okay to the stand out it should be.

As you can see the restaurant has beautiful decor however my experience wasn’t so great. If you take a look at the picture the whole restaurant was practically empty & so was upstairs but the RUDEST waiter turned us away and said they were fully booked and that “people usually book a week in advance to eat here”. We were shocked because we went at 5pm and there was almost nobody in sight (probably a few tables occupied) but there was definitely space for TWO people to have a quick bite. The lady was adamant that she couldn’t seat us and turned us away so we requested to sit outside. When we went back in to order our food another waiter was willing to seat us & the lady quickly came and stopped him to which we were shocked because we couldn’t understand why. The manager then came and told us we can sit inside which we were thankful for but really annoyed at the treatement we received from that rude lady who clearly had a problem with us eating inside. Whilst we were there (for about 45 mins - 1 hour) the service was slow & the restaurant was STILL EMPTY WHEN WE LEFT. Absolutely ridiculous. Food was decent and they’re a chain restaurant which you can find at multiple locations so I don’t understand why the lady was acting as though this is a 5 star Michelin restaurant that is so hard to eat at. All in all just a bad experience, although we haven’t had this experience at other branches. What a shame.

We visited for the first time on a gloomy, rainy Saturday and the interior and decor really cheered us up. Service was very quick, maybe abit too quick at times. We were seated for about 30 seconds before the waiter asked us if we were ready to order. We'd barely glanced at the menu so told him to give us 3 minutes! We ordered homous and flatbread (both good) for starters. Whilst we were in the middle of eating the starters the waiter asked us if we were ready for the mains again we said to give us 5 minutes or so. More or less after the starter plates were cleared the main was served! We had Chicken tagine with vermicelli rice (very bland and watery) and Chicken taouk (taste was good, but quite dry). Desserts were brownie and ice cream (good, but brownie abit dry and needed warming up) and Orange Blossom Mouhalabia (really bland and disappointing). On the other hand the drinks were really good. Not sure we'd go again after this it was certainly a lovely place to be in such a shame about the food. Maybe it's better just for drinks and nibbles?

The manager of this restaurant, Dominique, is extremely rude and dismissive and will tell you why….

My wife and I are Muslim and we were looking for a place to have iftar after long day of work. My wife was not fasting because she is 30 weeks pregnant. We entered this restaurant ant 1850 and the manager, Dominique approached us and said do you have a booking…I said no…he then said you have to wait 20-30mins. I thought let’s check online and see if we can book and there was a slot open at 1900. So I quickly booked and showed Dominique we had a booking. As soon as I said I got a booking he quickly dismissed us and said ‘the booking system doesn’t mean anything because the restaurant is full, when I full well know and can see seats available.

We were taken back and replied saying you are coming across very rude. He didn’t seem to care and carried on with his business. A customer comes through the door, Dominique says to the customer do you have a booking and she says ‘YES!’ Dominique then gets his IPAD and clicks on the customers name which was below my name on the list.

At that point my wife and I knew something was right and we made it clear to him what he was doing was wrong and disgusting behaviour and would like a seat now please.

In total, my wife and I waited 30mins, even when we booked ahead of others. I felt like he tried to make a point or tried to ridicule us because we were not his ideal customers.

We were finally seated and given food which wasn’t hot off the stove at all and cold in some ways. I called another colleague for the bill and made it clear that their manager was out of order and has the worst customer service I have ever seen in a restaurant. The colleague went to remove the service charge but was stopped by his manager Dominique and were having discussions in the background. Dominique the approached and said you don’t have to pay anything you can leave…Again! He was dismissive!

My wife and I knew full well we couldn’t leave without paying. I then explained to his poor customer service and abrupt behaviour but he just kept talking over me and basically telling us to leave. I said to him you knew what you did was wrong and you are still not listening to me. And after my explanation he followed my request of getting the bill minus service charge.

My wife and I came out frustrated for the way he treated us and wouldn’t recommend going here at all. I would avoid the headache of facing the manager Dominique and you can get much better...

I booked a table for 5:30 13 march 2024 and went with a group of friends there were 4 of us. We walked in and there were plenty of nice empty seats downstairs but we were taken upstairs where there was absolutely no one not even staff and we were asked to sit in a corner, I asked if we could sit in a different corner upstairs that took exactly the same number of people they said it was booked. We waited for the menus to come but no one was upstairs to give it and 10 mins later I went downstairs and had to ask them, a lovely waiter, Fasil, brought our menus and helped us for the rest of the evening (he was very lovely and helpful). The manager came upstairs and I asked her why we couldn’t move to the opposite table that was exactly the same just a different corner she said it was booked, I question what she meant by booked since we had booked in advance already and nowhere on their website did it ask to specify which table we wanted, she just turned around and walked away. No one sat on that table until much later in the evening as we were heading out, 2 women went to sit, even thought it was a 4 seater table and there were plenty of other 2 seater tables they could’ve sat at. So how exactly were we not allowed to sit there and those 2 women were? And why did the manager very rudely turn around and walked away as I was talking to her? I felt very unwelcomed and felt on edge the entire evening didn’t enjoy my time at all. Again Fasil the waiter was very lovely, the manager however .. also the food is ok not the best especially for the price but I don’t think I was bothered enough by anything else my brain was busy being annoyed at the manager lol. So thanks to the manager for ruining my evening with my friends that I’ve not seen in a year when we were finally...

I was looking forward to taking my friends to this place based on the stellar reviews it has received across social media platforms. We came to celebrate my friend’s 21st and this was stated in our reservation as well. However, we spent our evening there repeatedly flagging down assistance because no one would approach us- even if we made eye contact they would ignore us. We ordered all of our drinks and food all at once, however, we weren’t even given tap water until our food arrived and we had to ask again for it again. The funny thing is that we were seated right in front of the bar so we saw my friend’s wine glass in front of us for 15 minutes without anyone attending to it and mine and the birthday girl’s drink weren’t even made when our food arrived. When we asked about it, the server looked at the bartender and she simply shrugged it off and the server had to go behind the bar and make our drinks. Mind you, the food was very good and the drinks when they did arrive were great as well. But the service was absolutely disappointing- I understand that dinner service can be hectic. However, when we were first seated there was only a handful of people around us- it was not until we finished our meal did it start to get a bit crowded. There was a table of 2 next to us that was seated after we arrived and they were able to leave before we did while we were struggling to find someone to bring the bill to us. In fact, I had asked one of the servers if she could bring us our bill and then I saw she was in the bar making drinks and then we had to ask another server to bring us our bill. It is frustrating because we came here for a birthday celebration but the service came across as lackluster and unorganized due to the lack of staff and...
