I don’t normally write reviews however I really had to on this occasion. Me and my friend went to 6 different restaurants in Chorlton, 4 of which were closed and 2 we walked out of as they were so overpriced. We were heading to another restaurant when we stumbled across Lucky Mama’s. Now, I’m not a pizza/pasta kinda girl at all but I was intrigued by the decor and branding, (I’m an interior designer so it’s something that stood out to me) I have to say inside was just so welcoming, warm and well finished with lovely little details. Red and pink are my least favourite colours but omg did this place change my whole mind!! It was just so cool inside, such a vibe with the chilled music. Everyone was super super friendly and really attentive that I couldn’t have asked for a better service. Now…the pizza was just out of this world! Me and my friend only wanted a small bite to eat so we shared the tuna pizza and a portion of dough balls. I am converted entirely but only for Mama’s pizza!! So happy we discovered this place in Chorlton, it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had and that is the truth. It was perfectly crisp, no soggy bottom, super fresh toppings. So in one whole night I was converted over 2 things - a colour palette I wouldn’t normally vibe off and has now been a huge inspiration from a creative point of view and pizza that wouldn’t ever be my first choice to eat out at. I just love this place and I highly highly recommend supporting this amazing new pizza joint! I can’t wait to take more friends and family, well...
Read moreHave been meaning to try here for ages. Did attempt to dine here a while ago on a weeknight, but the wait time was 90 mins and we hadn't the time to wait. It is walk-ins and take away only. Quite a small place, nicely decorated. We visited on a Sunday for lunch with the hopes it wasn't too busy, but happy to wait if necessary. Luckily, it was pretty quiet. We ordered the cream pesto pasta, with prawns, chicken, parmesan and a pizza bowl, then the American pizza with chicken. With two soft drinks it totalled £37, which is really reasonable. The food was served within 10-15 mins and was steaming hot and evidently good fresh. There was plenty of pepperoni on the pizza and it was really tasty. The creamy pesto pasta was divine! Really tasty and a great portion size, with plenty of chicken and prawns added. The pizza bowl was really tasty too, but we couldn't finish it all. The service was really good and the waitress was friendly. I would highly recommend visiting Lucky Mama's in Chorlton and we'll definitely...
Read moreThe nicest part of the meal were the pesto doughballs as they actually had flavour. However they were tiny. We got the rosé pasta and the mac n cheese, never had such bland food before. Wasn't even seasoned with salt at the very least. Luckily there was a lot of pesto on the doughballs, so we had to use that on both pasta dishes to make them taste of anything. The mac n cheese didn't have the herby breadcrumb topping as stated on the menu.
Lots of vegetarian options though, which is hard to find in most places.
We ordered online, just under an hour before we went to collect, and still had to wait another 10-15 minutes inside the restaurant for our food to be ready.
Overall, disappointed with the food here, portions were small and quite expensive for what we got. Shame, as we had high hopes for a good...
