The restaurant has a beautiful ambience with bright lights and is enough to make you comfortable and feel warm. As soon as you enter the restaurant the staff will greet you with great affection and respect which will make you feel more better and will enhance your experience.
The restaurant menu is simple but elaborate, the restaurant serves wide range of Indian cuisine. Right from the Indian street food to the classical and authentic Indian dishes and is enough to give you a taste of India while sitting in UK and will for sure give you a nostalgic feel.
Let's come in to the food which I tried here:
1)Aloo tikki chaat: This was huge aloo doughs lightly fried for a crisp along with mild masala chickpeas, topped with yoghurt, tamarind chutney and green chutney and garnished with pomegranate seeds. The creamy flavour of yoghurt, the slight spice of green chutney and the flavourful masala chickpeas came really good on palate. The tangy taste of tamarind chutney tingled the tastebuds. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
3)Dal makhni: This was rich, creamy black lentil dal with a hint of tomato puree and some well cooked kidney beans. The dal makhani was garnished with cream had a mild sweetness and a creamy texture.
4)Methi malai chicken: This was thick and creamy cashew based gravy with sweet and creamy cashew taste. It consisted of boneless chicken chunks and a hint of fenugreek leaves.
5)Mango lassi: This was a simply delicious lassi with a strong mango flavour and a thick texture.
Top five reasons to visit this place:
1)The place has elaborate but structured menu which gives different options to choose from without creating any confusion.
2)The place has different varieties of Indian gravies which makes you nostalgic.
3)The place serves big portion sizes of their dishes, which is enough to fill your stomach.
5)The place has varieties of platters by which you can have most of...
Read moreIn the initial weeks after it opened, I went there with my wife to celebrate our birthdays. I had to wait for 45 minutes despite having reserved a table in advance, and when I finally got a seat it was too crowded and unpleasant. I placed an order for a 50ml Black label, Chicken Hakka Noodles, water, and a masala dosa. First up was the Masala Dosa after 20 mins of ordering, which I noticed had been returned from a table where the diners had denied ordering it. I accepted it because it was untouched. I made another request for beverages, but the personnel only nodded. After waiting for 20 minutes, I received Chicken Hakka Noodles that had a taste of prawns. I informed the staff, but the first person ignored me, subsequently revealed to a second person, and she agreed that they fry both chicken and prawns in the same oil. She, however, changed it. After we had food was the time when the drink finally arrived, the staff informed me that "They forgot the drink." I finally requested for water again as my wife became frustrated waiting and requesting for the god know how many times, well after 10 more minutes we got the chance to drink water at such a busy restaurant when I asked for it again at the conclusion. Accepted that my birthday meal was spoiled and decided not to order the main course n leave. Anyway, after all of this, when I went to pay at the front desk, they told me "Only Cash" and apologised for possibly forgetting to tell us when we entered; as a result, it took another 5 minutes to do a bank transfer.
We came by walk expecting the meal will be over by 9:30 maximum even with main course but had to take a cab back home as it was almost 11 that too without main course. Overall, I had a really horrible birthday (worst birthday ever)
Update- thanks for reply. However, no one ever asked me for...
Read moreOverall Experience The restaurant offered a reasonably varied selection of dishes, with generous use of lamb across the menu. Portions ranged from adequate to exceptionally large (as with the lamb shank biryani). While some dishes were satisfying, none stood out as exceptional, and the reliance on coriander—unable to be omitted—may limit choices for those who dislike it. Service was straightforward, though the lack of complimentary poppadoms was a small disappointment.
The biggest drawback was the environment: the dining area was noticeably warm due to the absence of air conditioning, which detracted from the overall comfort. In terms of value, the food was serviceable and portions fair, but the experience leaned more toward average rather than memorable.
Dishes Ordered: Poppadoms & Chutney Set – Asked if we wanted to order some on arrival, but not complimentary.
Mango Lassi (jug) – Nicely thick, not overly sweet. Generous serving, approximately 1.25L.
Lamb Korma – Mildly buttery with a touch of sweetness. Pleasant but unremarkable.
Lamb Dopiaza – Not spicy, with a thick sauce and a heavy use of onions.
Lamb Biryani (regular, not shank) – Portion initially looked small but proved filling. Contained plenty of lamb pieces, cooked well and not dry. Coriander was mixed into the rice and couldn’t be excluded—noticeable on occasion but subtle. Decent overall, though not the best I’ve had.
Butter Naan – Chose this instead of garlic naan, as coriander couldn’t be removed from the garlic version. Unfortunately, lacked richness and was not very buttery.
Lamb Shank Biryani – I didn’t taste this dish, but it came in a very large portion, approximately double the size of the regular biryani, with visible...
