Ordered Jasmines for the first time on Thursday 12th December and if I hadn’t of rang them up that night, it would probably of still not arrived today. 2 hours my order took to deliver. I am a reasonable person. I rang twice after an hour and 10 mins had passed as it says 60 minute waiting time. Told it had left the kitchen, fair do’s. 1 hour 35 mins. Still not arrived (bear in mind the delivery was less than a mile away). I rang again, I hear them discussing in the background the mishaps. “Sorry, we only have one driver and very busy tonight”, thats fine I said. 2 hours now have passed which is a joke, I ring again for the 3rd time. “Run run” I hear to the poor driver. 2 hours and 10 minutes, my food arrives, freezing. Told straight up that “we had been forgotten about”. I work in customer services, I ring the restaurant for the 4th time, not angry, not rude just requesting a simple refund. “Can’t we just give you 25% off your next order”. In what realm would I order food that takes two hours to come and came colder than a choc ice in the freezer. I said be reasonable, 2 hours “ok ok, will take two days to process”. It is now Monday 16th. Still no refund shock. You had the potential to create a good review and a loyal customer, yet poor management, customer service and a simple resolution let you down. I suggest you...
Read moreI had heard really good things about the Jasmine. But I did not have this experience.
When we entered the the decor was very dated. But I have learnt not to be to quick to judge a place.
After being told here is your seat with very minimal service, we had a look at the menu. It is a bring your own drinks, but with no corkage fee. So off I go to the nearest off license. Which is conveniently next door, but very expensive for not very good wine.
Feeling a little underwhelmed so far, we had a hummus and lamb starter with pitta, which I must say was fair.
I ordered what I thought was going to be a spinach and lamb dish for my main course that came with rice.
When my main course arrived, it was a bowl of wilted spinach with some fatty lamb chunks and some rice.
When we received the bill we realised that we had both been charged for a side dish of rice for meals that included it. Now, this is not being tight, but £6 for two small dishes of rice on top of a bad meal. They did correct the error on the bill. The service was not particularly good throughout the meal.
To be honest, it was the worst meal I have had in Manchester. However, I still have friends who rave about it. Usually, I would give it a second chance, but sorry, I think...
Read moreThis place gets very busy so clearly people enjoy what's on offer here. For me it wasn't a great experience, not terrible but I wouldn't go back. The menu has some good vegan options for starters but the main course is a bit confused in terms of the vegan offering. There is only one dish, mosaka, that is vegan on the main course menu but it isn't marked as vegan. Also I didn't think it was very nice, quite a bitter flavour. Our waiter was very gregarious and genial but he didn't really know the menu, or what being vegan means. After we'd finished our meal he did ask us if we enjoyed it, so credit for that increasingly rare courtesy. I told him I didn't enjoy the main course as it was too bitter. He replied that he wishes I would eat meat because he has some really nice meat dish. I replied that I wished people would be more compassionate towards animals. The waiter then started trying to dissuade me from my ethical beliefs. I didn't get into that conversation but suffice to say, I don't go out on a Saturday night to be converted to a...
