My family and I originally booked at a Persian restaurant but couldn't add additional people due to lack of seating available as it was busy. So we cancelled and came Turkish Delight as a 2nd choice. We were disappointed. I've eaten Turkish food few times before and would give the food here 2 stars. The service was very good as our waitress was very helpful and that's why I put 3 stars.
The online website menu needs updating as they no longer serve any seafood (this was the reason I went). On getting there, they informed the Donner machine wasn't working, so rest of family couldn't get their ideal meal either. I ended up getting falafel starter and the falafel & helloumi Burger, that came with chips (these were sliced potatoes, like crisps but a few millimeters thick). For almost £12 for the burger and just over £4 for the starter it was very disappointing. The falafel came with a squirt of yogurt/sour cream. A tiny portion of the same salad given with the burger meal. Each falafel was way too large so a little burnt outside and the inside was a little raw.
I've eaten falafel many times in Syrian, Lebanese places and it didn't compare. I expected a falafel burger with helloumi on top for a £12 burger but instead it was 2 of the starter falafel inside. It was laziness.
My brother and nephew got the beef burger meals and that was very surprising. They put slices of the Turkish processed sausage (deep fried ones you normally get) with helloumi instead of real beef meat. They weren't happy at all. The moussaka was okay, the grilled chicken breast main my nephew got was okay and the rest was nothing special. All in all the did standards were very low. Wouldn't go there again. I don't judge the food based on personal preferences only but by the standards other places set and authenticity of the way it's made, should have been made. With this place now only serving meats and a few veg options, I would have expected them to give proper meats in main meals and more attention to the vegetarian dishes that are signature for...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Turkish Delight kabab house, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment I walked in, the inviting aroma of delicious dishes filled the air, setting the tone for a delightful meal.
The menu offered an impressive selection of authentic Turkish cuisine, featuring everything from juicy kebabs and flavourful mezze to fresh salads and warm pita. Each dish was beautifully presented, making it hard to choose just one! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, providing recommendations that truly enhanced the dining experience.
Once I brought my meal home, I was captivated by the vibrant flavors and textures. The kebabs were perfectly grilled, tender, and packed with spices that made each bite a delight. The mezze platter was a feast for the senses, with a variety of dips and fresh vegetables that complemented each other beautifully. I especially loved the hummus and baba ghanoush!
What I appreciated most was the balance of flavors; each dish was rich and satisfying without being overwhelming. Enjoying this meal felt like a culinary journey to Turkey, and it paired wonderfully with a refreshing glass of ayran.
In summary, if you’re looking for a fantastic takeaway experience, Turkish Delight Takeaway is a must-visit. The quality of the food, the warmth of the staff, and the overall ambiance make it stand out. I can’t wait to return for more...
Read moreUse to be my goto place for a kebab. Recently after their refurb it seems everything has changed and not all for the better. Prices here are above average, portions are above average. The Donner here has always been homemade but lately (last 3 times) the quality has really gone down, its more salty than usual and quite often grainy with gristle. The other meats are still the same which is very good quality and all lightly marinated/seasoned so you can taste the meat. The chilli sauce has been Changed and no longer the same as in the past, some may like it more but not me personally, I prefer old one. I would recommend getting their tomato sauce separately but chilli and yoghurt in the kebab so that it's not too wet. They use bought in nan bread which is a bit thin and tasteless. The salad is fresh and you get plenty. I think the above average price can be justified for the quality and hopefully the donner problem can be fixed. 8/10
Update: Positive feedback from owner. I really want this to be a 10/10. Will come visit soon to see if there's been...
