I'm really upset and mad😡The shopping experience in this store is bad!Today, in order to celebrate, I specially ran to this sainsburys to buy wine. I specially brought my brp and passport, but I was refused to buy when I checked out. The female clerk said that my ID had expired, and directly turned my passport to the signature page. She pointed to the valid date above and said that my visa had expired too. I explained that after this date, people will use evisa, and I was confused why she looked at this…Isn't it necessary to check the date of birth to make sure that I am an adult??But she still insisted that my ID had expired and needed to be updated, and refused to sell me alcohol.

I asked to speak to his supervisor, to see if there was any common sense lying somewhere else in the store. He then called over another spotty faced young person who was born in the 2000s.
Baring in mind im 6ft with a full beard and over a decade older than the required age I started showing the two teenagers my grey hairs in a final desperate attempt to get my bottle of wine.
They refused me service both absolutely knowing I'm many many years older than both of them.

Read more1.Staff are zombies - go to self checkout, wait for approval or need help and they just don't do anything sometimes just stare at you even though they can see the big red light flashing.
2.When the shop gets busy you can't move, yeah it's small but it's laid out so poorly no space for a queue as it's all the way down the booze aile and blocking anyone trying to shop - again staff don't help, nobody jumps on a till or helps get the queues moving.
Worst conscience store in city centre by a mile, only successful as it's the only peoper shop...
