Once Upon A Child Abilene — Local services in Abilene

Overall I love this store and make sure every new mom knows about them. However, it is incredibly frustrating that when you take clothes in, they will only take one bag at a day especially when I live in Albany and so when I make trips up to Abilene it is very intentional. Also trying to make sure I have a bin or reusable bag to bring the clothes in instead of trash bag is ridiculous. What's the difference of the clothes being in a bag versus a trash bag?? Same clothes, just different bags. I mean I will even take the trash bag back when y'all are done with it, yall don't even keep the reusable ones so really, is it that hard to just take the stupid bag?? Most of the staff have been very sweet but this tattoo lady who was taking my bag of clothes today, was extremely rude and had a huge attitude about me bringing in clothes then having to go get my husband because I forgot my ID. She needs to have a check in on her attitude problem.

It's a great place to get lots of clothes for cheap and also be able to resell them but there should be a better system that works for everyone instead of making it complicated for people to bring clothes in a certain bag or container/ only being able to drop off one bag at a time. I understand if someone were to drop off a ton of bags at once but two bags is too...

0 stars. Read about this place online and mostly saw negative reviews from moms attempting to sell items but decided to give it a chance. I read how other moms struggled to bring things in through the door with their children and the items they intended to sell with no help. I had the same experience. I had my baby, purse, and activity seat and 3 girls watched me struggle to get everything inside. The seat was clean and the cloth part was washed but there was apparently discoloration by the leg holes. The girl took 1 second, saw where my babys legs had been and immediately said we cant take this. The seat was white with blue and orange fish. The discoloration is what happens when you have a chunky baby with brown skin color that rubs against tight light fabric. The table was new and clean but she refused the whole toy because the leg hole showed light use? Is this not a second hand store? I didn't see any stains but it's fine. I'll give it away. It was never about the money. I truthfully wanted to just buy something from the store with whatever money they offered me. I guess the one positive is that the girl walked the seat back to my car...

So I’m at the store right now and they are trying to sell a pair of Wonder Nation (Walmart brand) water shoes for 6.50... these are $5.98 brand new at Walmart. When I inquired about lowering the price I was told they can’t do that. The manager would be in later. They just opened it is 10:05am sooooo how is someone not here that can deal with price changes that are blatantly WAYYYY OVER PRICED since Walmart doesn’t even charge that much BRAND NEWWWWW! I’m waiting for the associate to call the manager... they gave a discount after telling me I basically wasn’t allowed to be upset because I was badgering the employee for a whole 5 minutes total since they haven’t even been open that long by the time I talked to the manager. As a person who runs their own business this is unacceptable customer service. I never should have been told multiple times that a discount wouldn’t be given till the manager finally spoke with me. That employee needs more training if they thought I wanted a systemic change right now... sheesh I just want my kid to have some water shoes before we...
